A new promotional trailer for Demon Slayer season 4, one of the most highly anticipated anime releases of 2024, has recently been unveiled by Ufotable. The upcoming season will be focusing on the Hashira Training arc from the manga series, which has already concluded. This has allowed fans to speculate and anticipate what they can expect from the anime adaptation.
As excitement builds for the upcoming season, many fans are curious about the potential main villain of Demon Slayer season 4. This article will explore the possibility of a main villain and potential candidates for the role.
Disclaimer: This article contains minor spoilers from the Demon Slayer manga chapters.
Will there be a main villain in Demon Slayer season 4 and if so, who will it be?
Should Demon Slayer season 4 solely cover the Hashira Training arc from the manga series, audiences will not encounter a central villain. This specific story arc does not feature an Upper Moon Demon in the role of the primary antagonist. Instead, it concentrates on the demon hunters and their revamped training program under the supervision of the Hashiras.
What to expect in the Hashira Training arc of Demon Slayer season 4?
The recently launched promotional video failed to mention anything about the Infinity Castle arc, which follows after the Hashira Training arc. Consequently, fans are speculating that Demon Slayer season 4 will be relatively brief and only cover the Hashira Training arc of the series.
Witness a unique training experience as the Hashiras exclusively mentor Tsukugos. These exceptionally talented demon hunters are selected to be successors to a Hashira.
In the upcoming story arc, Tanjiro and numerous others, including Kanao Tsuyuri, will undergo intense training set by each of the Hashiras. Tengen Uzui will lead the first section, focusing on building stamina to combat the durable Upper Moon demons. Muichiro Tokito will then train demon hunters in quick movement, while Mitsuri Kanroji will oversee a specialized training routine.

She focuses on ensuring the demon hunters are exceptionally flexible in preparation for the pivotal battles against Muzan and his cohorts. The Serpent Hashira, Obanai Iguro, plays a key role in improving the demon hunters' swordsmanship skills. His uncompromising approach in this part of the training regimen will push the demon hunters to their limits.
The following section is referred to as the Infinite Pounding training, led by Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa. This training regimen emphasizes the ability to deliver powerful strikes while maintaining endurance and composure.
The last phase of the training, known as Muscle Reinforcement, will be supervised by Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima. He will oversee the physical conditioning of all demon hunters to ensure optimal performance.

Editor's P/S
As a Gen Z fan of Demon Slayer, I am thrilled about the upcoming season 4 and the Hashira Training arc. The promotional trailer has raised my expectations, and I can't wait to see the intense training and character development of Tanjiro and the other demon hunters. While I understand that this arc may not feature a central villain, I am still excited to witness the growth and challenges faced by the characters as they prepare for future battles.
However, I can't help but feel a bit disappointed that the Infinity Castle arc might not be covered in season 4. The Infinity Castle arc is one of my favorite parts of the manga, and I was hoping to see it animated soon. I hope that Ufotable will consider adapting this arc in a future season or perhaps as a movie. Overall, I am optimistic about Demon Slayer season 4 and am eagerly looking forward to its release in 2024.
