Unveiling the Legendary Scarface - Special 40th Anniversary 4K Steelbook Edition!

Priced at $28 and expected to be available on November 7, this release is likely a repackaging of the previously released 4K edition of Scarface from 2019, which offered a plethora of additional content including featurettes and deleted scenes. Notably, the highlight of this edition was the panel reunion commemorating the film's 35th anniversary, featuring Brian De Palma, Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Steven Bauer.

Originally released in 1983, Scarface, available for pre-order at Best Buy, features Al Pacino in the role of Tony Montana, a Cuban drug lord. The movie follows his journey from a poor immigrant to the height of Miami's criminal underworld. However, it also portrays his rapid downfall, leading up to the iconic "Say hello to my little friend" scene that has become synonymous with the film.

While Scarface is known for its explicit content, violence, and vulgarity, a recent topic of discussion revolves around Pacino, who is of Italian descent, portraying a Latino character with a heavy Cuban accent. This aspect of the movie has received criticism for being culturally insensitive. Thankfully, one of the bonus featurettes, named The Scarface Phenomenon, addresses this concern to some extent in its half-hour duration.

However, the fact remains that director Brian de Palma has earned his reputation as one of the greats. Scarface, despite its nearly three-hour duration, is an exceptionally entertaining film.
