Unveiling the Future of Assassin's Creed Mirage: Exclusive DLC Plans Revealed!

Fans eagerly await Assassin's Creed Mirage DLC, hoping to extend their gaming experience With the game being relatively short, speculation arises on whether Ubisoft plans to surprise players with exciting new content

Highlights

Assassin's Creed Mirage offers fans a return to the franchise's smaller scale roots, with a reduced story and world size, creating a more enjoyable experience for many players.

Despite the main story being completed in just 13 hours, some fans are eager to extend their time in Baghdad and are curious about Ubisoft's DLC plans. However, with Mirage initially conceived as DLC and a number of new AC games currently being developed, the likelihood of additional content seems uncertain. Although Ubisoft has no plans for story DLC, they may offer cosmetic microtransactions and bundles through their store to enhance the post-launch experience of Mirage.

While some fans loved Assassin's Creed's recent expansive RPGs, others yearned for the franchise to return to its smaller scale roots. Ubisoft fulfilled this desire with Assassin's Creed Mirage, a captivating game that significantly reduces the story's size, the world's scope, and removes many RPG mechanics, providing a more enjoyable experience for many players. However, there are now concerns among fans about the future of Assassin's Creed Mirage.

Due to its smaller scale, Assassin's Creed Mirage can be completed relatively quickly. Many players have finished the main story in as little as 13 hours, a significant decrease compared to Valhalla. While this brevity is exactly what some fans desired, others wished for a longer stay in Baghdad. Consequently, players are wondering if Ubisoft has any plans for DLC, although the chances of that seem unlikely.

Why Assassin's Creed Mirage DLC Feels Unlikely

Unveiling the Future of Assassin's Creed Mirage: Exclusive DLC Plans Revealed!

Assassin's Creed Mirage was initially intended to be a DLC for Valhalla in 2020, designed as a substantial story expansion taking players on a new adventure in the Middle East for the franchise's 15th anniversary. However, Ubisoft's enthusiastic response to the concept led to its transformation into a standalone game three years later.

While originally intended as a DLC for only a brief period, AC Mirage's evolution into its own game has proven to be a resounding success. Fans who had become fatigued by the previous three titles are enamored with its streamlined experience. However, its size has left some players craving more, although additional content is unlikely to be provided.

Ubisoft currently has no plans for story DLC for Mirage, possibly due to their focus on AC Red or because the game was intended as a standalone adventure. While this may change depending on its success, it appears that Mirage will likely be a one-and-done experience. This decision aligns with the amount of Assassin's Creed content in development and the fact that Mirage was initially meant as DLC.

However, this does not mean there will be no post-launch content for Mirage. Ubisoft may still release cosmetic microtransactions through their store. They have already offered cosmetic bundles for Mirage, available for purchase. Additionally, there is a map pack available for purchase that reveals all the treasure locations for those who don't want to wait. Although it may not be the desired DLC, these are currently the only plans Ubisoft has for Mirage.

Smaller scale Assassin's Creed games like AC 3's The Tyranny of King Washington or Syndicate's Jack the Ripper DLC have set a precedent for receiving additional content. Unfortunately, it appears that Mirage will not be receiving the same treatment, which is disappointing. The game serves as a strong foundation for future stories and it would be great if fans could explore those stories in some way. While DLC would be the simplest option, Ubisoft could also consider creating a whole Basim trilogy. However, it seems more likely that the franchise will simply move on.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
