Unveiling the Exciting Surprises in Capcom's Showcase

Summer Game Fest is almost here, and with E3 canceled, it's the go-to event for all the latest video game announcements. Kicking off with Geoff Keighley's opening ceremony livestream on June 8, followed by smaller showcases like Double Fine's Day of the Devs and the Devolver Direct, the event culminates in the Xbox Showcase on Sunday and Ubisoft Forward the following day. Now, just days before the festivities begin, Capcom has announced it will be joining the fray with its own showcase on Monday, June 12. While fans shouldn't get too excited, Capcom has promised over 30 minutes of exciting new reveals, ranging from game announcements to gameplay trailers and updates on existing titles. While nothing is confirmed yet, there are several games that could make an appearance during the Capcom Showcase.

What Fans Can Expect To See at Capcom's June 12 Showcase

Considering that Capcom's official announcement of the event confirmed its 36-minute duration, it appears that the showcase may not be as extensive as other gaming events. For comparison, both Summer Game Fest's opening livestream and Xbox's showcase are set to last approximately two hours, while Ubisoft's presentation will run for around an hour. Given the time constraint, it is more likely that Capcom will focus on highlighting games that are either already available or set to be released soon, such as Exoprimal. This four-player co-op dinosaur shooter is scheduled for release on July 14, and Capcom has been actively promoting it for the past year, showcasing it at numerous events. It would make sense for Capcom to once again showcase Exoprimal at its own event, possibly with a new gameplay trailer for fans to enjoy.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is a strong contender for the upcoming Capcom Showcase, having received critical and commercial success. Fans and critics alike noted the absence of the original game's Separate Ways side campaign upon release, leading to speculation that Capcom would release it as a separate paid DLC. While it remains to be seen if this DLC will come to fruition, it's likely that Capcom will have something Resident Evil 4-related to announce during the event. In addition to Resident Evil 4 Remake, other games like Dragon's Dogma 2, Monster Hunter Now, and Pragmata could also make an appearance, showcasing the diverse range of titles in Capcom's portfolio.
