Capcom's Street Fighter franchise has a tradition of introducing DLC characters, which are either added to the game through updates or can be purchased separately through yearly passes. Street Fighter 5, for instance, started with a 16-character roster and later added 30 more fighters through downloadable content.

Street Fighter 6, the latest installment in the series, already has an extensive initial roster of 18 warriors. Fans, however, are curious about the number of DLC characters that will be joining the crew and when they will be making their debut in the game.

Thankfully, Capcom has officially announced that Street Fighter 6 will have at least four additional characters by Spring 2024, with plans to continuously expand the roster thereafter.

will be available in the Summer of 2023, followed by Rashid in Autumn. Ed and Akuma will join the game in Winter and Spring of 2024 respectively. Of the four Year-One DLC characters, A.K.I. is the only new fighter, while the other three are well-known household names from previous Street Fighter installments.
