For DeLoach, finding that spark and energy with Walker is essential for their performances. She shared, "You try to find that banter, that energy, and you can feel it when you're in it. You're like, 'Oh, yeah, this is happening, this is working.'"

DeLoach, 44, revealed that she and Walker, also 44, felt an instant connection from the start. She said, "Andrew and I just had that out of the gate. We always say that we must've known each other in other lifetimes because we felt like we met each other, and we had been friends our entire lives."

She quickly formed a strong friendship with her co-star while working on their initial Hallmark project, A Dream of Christmas in 2016.

When they collaborated again for their first Curious Caterer Mystery film in 2022, DeLoach mentioned that they had a great connection. In the movie series, DeLoach takes on the role of caterer and amateur detective Goldy Berry, while Walker plays Detective Tom Schultz.

DeLoach remembered the third installment having dialogue that was “more buddy, buddy, friend, friend,” instead of the heat and passion they wanted for Goldy and Tom.

Foiled Plans is about Goldy and Tom attempting to solve a murder at Hyde Castle during a snowstorm. They are trapped in the castle, dressed in Medieval attire for a charity event. As they work together to unravel the mystery, their bond deepens romantically.

The film reaches its climax with a long-awaited kiss between the couple, a moment that DeLoach advocated for after the characters didn't share a kiss in the third movie.

"We discussed it with Andrew and the director, Paul, and we all agreed that the characters had talked enough. They were trapped in a castle with a murderer, so the stakes were high. We decided to cut out the talking and focus on what they really wanted to do all night long - kiss."
