Nikki DeLoach loved seeing Goldy and Tom kiss in Curious Caterer: Foiled Plans and is excited about what's in store for the movie couple.
"I'm looking forward to seeing how the romance between Tom and Goldy unfolds. It would be interesting to explore their relationship," DeLoach, 44, shared exclusively with We while talking about the Hallmark Mystery film that aired on Friday, April 25. "They're not your typical couple who date. Both of them have their own busy lives."
DeLoach has been portraying caterer and amateur sleuth Goldy alongside Andrew Walker's Detective Tom Schultz since the release of Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate in 2022. Together, they have starred in four Curious Caterer Mystery movies, with the latest one being Foiled Plans.
In Foiled Plans, the pair shared their first kiss after successfully solving a murder at a Medieval feast while being stuck in a castle. DeLoach revealed that there was originally more dialogue planned between Goldy and Tom before the kiss scene, but she insisted on having it removed.

She remembered thinking, "They just needed to go for it in this moment." She mentioned watching the movie multiple times and feeling that it was very successful.
Talking about the future of the couple, DeLoach pointed out that Tom has a demanding job with high stakes, while Goldy often finds herself in intense situations. This unique dynamic makes their relationship unconventional, and it becomes clear as they start to develop feelings for each other, as per the actress.
DeLoach expressed that she doesn't necessarily need to witness a date in the fifth movie of [movie]. However, she is curious about the significance of the kiss between the characters. She pondered, "You usually kiss after you’ve been on a date or two or something, but they’re past that. So then what is next for them?"
The actress hopes that the next installment of Curious Caterer will delve deeper into the relationship and explore the implications of the kiss for the couple.

Looking ahead to future films, DeLoach hopes to see a deeper romantic connection between Marla Maguire and Dave Trach. Trach, initially portrayed as a villain in 2023's Fatal Vows, begins to bond with Marla while they are both stuck in the castle during Foiled Plans.
I believe it's important for Trach to stay on the show. When he first appeared in the movie three, the audience didn't like him at all. But Trach is a complex character who grows throughout Foiled Plans.
Now that viewers understand his backstory, I hope they will see him in a new light and appreciate his character like we do. I really enjoy the dynamic between Marla and Trach, and I hope the audience will grow to love him too. Let's keep pushing for Trach to stay on the show.
