Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers firmly states that the club will not be acquiring any players with a price tag of £15m-£20m this summer. Shedding light on the team's recruitment strategy, Rodgers emphasizes his trust in head of recruitment Mark Lawwell to bolster the squad in preparations for the upcoming Scottish Premiership season and Champions League campaign.
The club have made five summer signings so far and although further additions are planned, Rodgers has shut down any talk of a marquee signing.

"I think everyone looks and thinks that we might be bringing in a £15m-£20m player, now the reality is that that won't be the case," he said.
The club's foundation does not solely determine the criteria, as there may still be skilled players that we desire. With plenty of time left in the transfer window, we will strive to further enhance the squad.
"We've done a lot of early business, which has been great and now allows the players to come in and settle and, of course, we want to do so more, but I'm quite calm in that."

Celtic have recently acquired five players during this transfer window, which includes Hyeokkyu Kwon, Maik Nawrocki, and Hyunjun Yang.
In May 2022, Celtic appointed Lawwell as the club's new head of first-team scouting and recruitment. Lawwell is the son of Peter, the former chief executive and current chairman of the club.
Rodgers disclosed that the signing process will involve teamwork, despite his previous collaboration with ex-manager Ange Postecoglou at Yokohama F Marinos, which is one of the ten clubs partially owned by CFG.
"I will collaborate with the club on this matter. Mark Lawwell, the leader of our recruitment team, has performed admirably," expressed the ex-Leicester manager.
"He possesses extensive familiarity with this specific market due to his prior position. Consequently, he comprehends the players, and moreover, he is supported by an exceptional team of individuals. Therefore, I place great trust in their collective efforts."
"Naturally, names will continue to be proposed to me, and I will carefully consider them.
"Several of these players were already identified before my arrival, and my role was to grant approval. Additionally, there have been players identified during my tenure, emphasizing the importance of our ongoing collaborative efforts."
I am aware of the club's location and familiar with the existing model, and our goal is to optimize it while also focusing on the development of players on the field. The alignment with the club's model holds utmost significance, as it always does.
As a contemporary manager in the present game, it is extremely challenging to do what you used to do years ago and spend evenings watching players. The game has evolved, so now you heavily depend on your recruitment team to bring in players. Although you won't always make perfect choices, this might be due to players not always adjusting well to a new country. However, there is a lot of commendable work being done.
Rodgers: I trust the recruitment team
A robust framework has been established to effectively address various scenarios and minimize their impact, ultimately providing the player with an ideal setting for growth and progress.Rodgers had an impeccable record during his initial tenure as Celtic manager, securing two Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups, and three League Cups.
With Rangers newly back in the top flight, Aberdeen managed to secure a second-place finish in both of Rodgers' complete seasons at Celtic Park.
"When I first arrived here, there was a lot of talk about Rangers being promoted and how they had performed impressively against Celtic in a semi-final match," he stated. "In addition, Aberdeen and several other teams were displaying great strength.
"Rangers are committed to investing and building a strong team, and the other teams will also be making investments and relying on you to narrow the gaps."

Brendan Rodgers achieved consecutive domestic trebles during his tenure at Celtic.
"However, my main priority lies with Celtic, aiming to elevate our performance and nurture our players in order to make us truly exceptional."
The upcoming experience will be identical. It is undoubtedly a challenge, but Celtic is focused on achieving victory and doing so in a stylish manner. Returning here had nothing to do with nostalgia; my purpose is to win and uphold the club's foundation of playing an elegant and fashionable brand of football.
Our goals remain unchanged. We approach each game with the intention of triumphing. As we embark on our journey in the Champions League and European football, we understand the immense difficulty that lies ahead. However, we strive to be highly competitive and explore our potential in European competitions, including the Champions League and other tournaments.
On the home front, we prioritize taking care of our core responsibilities before anything else, as they form the foundation of our success.
