Gen V, the highly-anticipated spin-off of Amazon Prime's The Boys, features all seven characters from the original series in its first three episodes. The universe of The Boys is vast, with various super-powered individuals within the franchise. These iconic characters are renowned celebrities in The Boys' world, so it is logical for them to have a presence in the spin-offs. Though Gen V primarily focuses on new characters, it still includes numerous well-known super-powered individuals and regular humans from the first three seasons of The Boys. Here is a comprehensive breakdown of each character that appears.
The long-awaited live-action spin-off of The Boys, Gen V, has finally been released on Amazon Prime. It begins with a three-episode premiere. The series revolves around Marie Moreau, a young supe with the unique ability to control blood. It portrays her journey of fulfilling her dream of attending Godolkin University, a prestigious Vought-operated school for supes. As Marie tries to make a name for herself, she becomes entangled in a conspiracy involving Vought, Golden Boy, and a mysterious facility called the Woods. Although the story of Gen V remains mostly separate from The Boys, there are significant connections between the two, including the introduction of seven characters in the spin-off.
7 A-Train
In Gen V, A-Train, a character from The Boys, makes his first appearance in a brief cameo that takes place earlier in the timeline compared to the rest of the series. The opening scene of Gen V season 1, episode 1 shows A-Train at a press conference, where he is officially introduced as a member of The Seven. This scene occurs eight years before the events of Gen V and showcases A-Train's initial moments as part of Vought's renowned team. Interestingly, it is later revealed that this sequence is actually a news broadcast being watched by Marie Moreau's father.
A-Train's presence in Gen V has been widely regarded as one of the show's most significant cameos due to his prominent role in The Boys and his status among The Seven. Although Gen V introduces numerous new and distinctive supes, A-Train's appearance stands out from the rest. The possibility of him making future appearances in Gen V remains uncertain, but it is entirely plausible for the beloved supe to visit Godolkin University. Considering that members of The Seven conducted interviews following Coach Brink's death, it would only make sense for A-Train to briefly visit Godolkin to maintain appearances.
6 The Deep
A-Train isn't the sole member of The Boys cast to make a cameo in Gen V. The aquatic adversary, known as The Deep, also makes an appearance. Recently, The Deep was permitted to rejoin the team in the third season of The Boys, following a period of probation. Additionally, Vought has already begun promoting the supe through press engagements. In response to the demise of Coach Brink, The Deep, along with other supes, recorded a brief message addressing the professor's tragic death. Similar to his speedy colleague, the possibility of The Deep reemerging in future episodes exists, although no confirmation has been provided thus far.
5 Adam Bourke
In addition to the multitude of supes featured in The Boys' Gen V, the first three episodes also introduce a few ordinary individuals. Among them is Adam Bourke, a Vought employee who lacks superpowers. Bourke, who used to have a thriving career working on Vought films such as Dawn of the Seven, has recently faced allegations of sexual harassment. As a result, his role in the company has been diminished, and he has found himself teaching acting at Godolkin University. Despite his resentment towards his new position, Bourke's character undergoes a comedic transformation that fits perfectly into the storyline.
4 Love Sausage
Although his appearance is brief, the supe known as Love Sausage from the iconic series The Boys also makes an appearance in Gen V. Love Sausage is an unusual creation of Vought, possessing the superpower of an incredibly long and strong penis. In Gen V, there is a quick flashback scene at Sage Grove Center where Love Sausage's penis can be seen through the window of a cell door as the characters walk down the halls. However, Love Sausage was freed from Sage Grove by Cindy in season 2, which means he can no longer be found in his former captive state.
3 Madelyn Stillwell
Surprisingly, Madelyn Stillwell also shows up in Gen V. In season 1, she held the position of Senior Vice President of Hero Management and was a top executive at Vought International until Homelander killed her off. Although Stillwell has been dead for some time, she makes a thrilling comeback in Gen V. In the first episode, she appears alongside A-Train during his inauguration ceremony, which actually takes place years before her untimely demise. So, while she may not be present in the current timeline, it is comforting to witness the return of this familiar face.
2 Ashley Barrett
Ashley Barrett, who is part of The Boys universe, is a formidable presence due to her position at Vought. It comes as no surprise that she also plays a role in Gen V. Ashley has taken on the mantle of Senior Vice President of Hero Management after Madelyn Stillwell's demise, and she has embraced this new responsibility wholeheartedly. Throughout The Boys, Ashley is heavily involved in Vought's public relations, a trend that continues in Gen V. This time, she attempts to conceal the Woods facility following the tragic death of Golden Boy, as observed during her conversation with the Dean. In a short post-credits scene, Ashley makes another appearance, leaving viewers hopeful that she will have an even more significant presence in the future.
1 Vanessa
In Gen V, a lesser-known character named Vanessa makes a comeback as the final addition to The Boys' roster. Vanessa works as a teacher at the Red River Institute, a group home for supes who have lost their parents. The fact that she reappears in Gen V demonstrates the meticulous attention to detail that the creators of The Boys have infused into the series.
New episodes of Gen V release Fridays on Amazon Prime.
