In the latest episode of Mushoku Tensei, we are transported two years ahead, where Rudeus, going by the alias Quagmire, is still on a quest to find his mother. Despite his ongoing struggle with impotence, Rudeus is presented with an unexpected and enticing proposition that he simply cannot turn down.

Two Years After

In the aftermath of his shattered relationship with Sara, Rudeus finds himself in a state of confusion, unsure of how to navigate his own path forward. However, an unexpected invitation presents itself, offering Rudeus the opportunity to shift his focus and potentially resolve the multitude of challenges currently consuming his thoughts. As Rudeus embarks on this new chapter of his life, it becomes evident that the transformative experiences awaiting him will leave an indelible mark.

Embarking on their mission, the Stepped Leader adventuring party, accompanied by Sol and Rudeus, sets off to vanquish a formidable team of luster grizzlies. Although the group effortlessly exterminates the majestic creatures, they find themselves taken aback by an unexpected assault from an injured red dragon. Panic ensues momentarily, but Rudeus swiftly neutralizes the threat, obliterating the dragon with his awe-inspiring magic in a blink of an eye. With their triumph celebrated and the spoils collected, Sol extends a formal invitation to Rudeus to join their ranks. Regrettably, Rudeus declines the offer, driven by his unwavering determination to continue his search for his beloved mother.

Life With Elinalise

After completing his usual muscle training, Rudeus decides to grab breakfast at a local pub. Little does he know that this mundane activity will lead to an unexpected encounter with Elinalise Dragonroad, an elf adventurer and former comrade of his parents, Paul and Roxy. Elinalise reveals to Rudeus that his mother, Zenith, has been discovered in the labyrinth city of Rapa on the Begaritt Continent. Finally having a lead on his mother's whereabouts, Rudeus eagerly plans to leave immediately. However, Elinalise advises him to wait until spring due to the treacherous blizzard storms that winter brings. Despite his initial reluctance, Rudeus accepts Elinalise's recommendation and agrees to wait patiently.

Rudeus continues with his daily routine, now sharing his living space with Elinalise, who resides right next to him. He swiftly becomes aware of Elinalise's frequent promiscuous encounters, which unfortunately disturb his sleep. Meanwhile, Rudeus's own romantic life has hit a major roadblock due to his impotence. After grappling with this issue for two years, he has relinquished any hope of ever experiencing love again. Nonetheless, Rudeus's strong sexual desires amplify the impact of Elinalise's behavior on his mental well-being.

One day, Rudeus emerges from his room and witnesses Sol exiting Elinalise's quarters. Sol is one of the numerous men with whom Elinalise engages in intimate encounters in the town, and Rudeus can't help but ponder over how she manages to captivate such a large number of suitors. Rudeus gains insight into one of her methods as she hands Sol a payment for their rendezvous, emphasizing the importance of never developing genuine feelings for her. Despite being clearly bothered by Elinalise's nocturnal pursuits, Rudeus nonetheless tolerates them.

A Wonderful Opportunity

Rudeus is excited when he receives an invitation from the prestigious Ranoa University of Magic. They offer him the opportunity to become a special student, granting him exemption from classes and tuition fees, allowing him to focus on independent research. Initially skeptical, Rudeus eventually realizes that the offer is genuine. Elinalise sees this as a chance for him to occupy his time while they search for his mother, but Rudeus prioritizes finding his family over everything else. Despite the appeal of attending the university, he cannot accept the invitation until his mother is found.

Later on, Rudeus encounters the Man-God once again in a dream. Similar to Elinalise, the Man-God advises Rudeus to attend the Ranoa University of Magic, but Rudeus rejects the idea once more, emphasizing that finding his mother takes precedence. However, the Man-God proposes that if Rudeus goes to the university and investigates the Fittoa Teleportation Incident, he will be able to recover from his impotence. Intrigued by the possibility of a cure, Rudeus eagerly bids farewell to the other members of Stepped Leader and embarks on a journey to Ranoa alongside Elinalise. After a lengthy voyage, they finally reach Ranoa, where Rudeus is about to encounter some of the most significant individuals in his life.
