Zelda Williams' directorial debut, 'Lisa Frankenstein,' unveils intriguing first images featuring the suave and enigmatic Cole Sprouse Brace yourself for a captivating cinematic experience this winter

This winter, actress Zelda Williams makes her directorial debut with a fresh take on the classic Frankenstein tale in the horror comedy, Lisa Frankenstein. A recent teaser trailer from Focus Features gave us a glimpse of the central characters: a resurrected corpse played by Cole Sprouse, and the misunderstood teenager Lisa Swallows portrayed by Kathryn Newton. Entertainment Weekly now provides a closer look at these characters. In a newly released image, we see Lisa in all her gothic glory, wielding an elegant wand and displaying sheer admiration for her crush. Emerging from the depths, he is dressed in a sharp suit and exudes an icy coolness.

Dubbed by its creators as "a coming of RAGE love story," this hilariously spooky romance is set in a high school in 1989, where Lisa is struggling to find the perfect prom date. While Lisa does have someone in mind, there's just one problem - he's dead. However, through a series of whimsically macabre events, Lisa manages to bring her chosen suitor back to life and gradually mold him into her dream man. Once the experiment is complete, Lisa intends to proudly showcase her creation to the entire school. However, their romantic journey won't be without consequences, as the dangerous pair leave a curious trail of "a few missing body parts" wherever they go.

The Team Behind 'Lisa Frankenstein'

Despite the base plot's similarity to a recurring Hollywood theme, director Williams is confident in her creation, which she describes as a "wild and captivating zombie film," and believes it will attract a large following. This optimism is well-founded, considering the talented team she has assembled for the movie. It is worth highlighting that the screenplay for Lisa Frankenstein was written by Academy Award winner Diablo Cody, renowned for her exceptional work on films like Juno and Jennifer's Body.

The lineup also includes Liza Soberano, Henry Eikenberry, and Joe Chrest.
