Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 introduces new skins, but some players are frustrated with Nova's new skin called Gaia that is difficult to see while playing.
Certain game skins, such as Roze and the recent Gaia skin, have provided players with an unjust advantage due to their limited visibility, particularly in darker regions of the map. Players express apprehension that these visibility concerns associated with the skins might be present in the upcoming installment, Modern Warfare 3. Activision has revealed a "Carry Forward" mechanism, enabling players to transfer their acquired skins to the next game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 introduces a range of new skins for players to unlock. However, one particular skin is causing frustration among fans due to its difficulty to see while playing. As a continuously evolving game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 consistently provides new content for players, including bundles in the in-game store and seasonal battle pass additions. Season 6, which recently launched, brings a Halloween-themed atmosphere to the game and introduces beloved comic character Spawn, along with Skeletor, Ash Williams, and other exciting characters.
While many of the new operators and skins are well-received, some have faced criticism from players. Certain cosmetic options have provided an unfair advantage, particularly in areas with limited visibility, such as dark sections of the map. The most infamous example was Roze, an operator in the original Call of Duty: Warzone, who had an alternate skin that was predominantly black, making it extremely difficult to spot in low-light environments. Unfortunately, similar visibility issues continue to arise with multiple skins, including the latest one introduced in Season 6 which is already causing problems.
On the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 subReddit, a user named KobraKay87 shared a brief video clip exposing the latest skin's problematic impact on both multiplayer and Warzone. The clip showcases instances where the player is repeatedly caught off guard by an opponent donning Nova's newest skin, Gaia. Although this skin transforms Nova into a slimmer iteration of the Marvel character Groot, the footage reveals the difficulty in spotting it from afar due to its neutral color tones, which allow it to blend seamlessly with the environment. Consequently, players wearing this skin gain an advantage by ambushing their adversaries.
While some commenters considered this situation as standard in the world of Call of Duty, there were others who expressed concern about the potential continuity of this problem in the upcoming game. Activision recently announced that Modern Warfare 3 will feature a "Carry Forward" system, enabling players to transfer their unlocked weapons, camo, attachments, operators, and cosmetic skins from Modern Warfare 2. Consequently, problematic skins like Gaia will also be available in Modern Warfare 3 upon its release. As a result, players remain hopeful that the issue will be addressed before the launch of the next game.
Roze was not the only skin that posed problems for players. During the Festive Fervor event, players had to face Krampus, who often targeted players who were camping or not focused on the objective. Although this feature was controversial, a bug caused even more chaos as Krampus became completely invisible to Call of Duty: Warzone players. These players could only hear the sounds it made but would suddenly experience damage and defeat. Fortunately, Krampus was eventually weakened, but this change did not greatly affect players' opinions of the overall event.
You can now play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
