Meredith Marks arrived at the Season 4 reunion of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City with 14 pages of notes, still seeking answers.
Discussing the eventful season of RHOSLC, Meredith, 51, revealed to We on Tuesday, December 12, that there were significant issues to address at the reunion, and time constraints limited the chance to address everything on her list. Despite her extensive notes, Meredith chose not to interrupt host Andy Cohen to ensure a smooth flow of the show.
The RHOSLC reunion special, which is scheduled to air in January 2024, was recently filmed by Meredith and her costars. While viewers won't know the details covered until it airs, Meredith suggested that she didn't find "closure" regarding her friendship issues with Lisa Barlow. "It's not so much bothersome, but I would love a little bit of closure. I feel like Lisa and I definitely had some underlying conflicts," Meredith admitted on Tuesday. "Some were not so underlying that I don't feel like we really touched on at all [during the reunion]."
She went on to say: “It’s not that we don’t feel some sense of closure because I believe we both realize, upon watching the events unfold and considering other factors, that there were external influences that intensified the situation, and I believe this has been a recurring issue between her and me every year. So, I feel that we have reached a mutual understanding, but it's not a topic that we have really discussed.”
Meredith Marks and Lisa Barlow, both 48, were close friends when RHOSLC premiered its first season in November 2020. However, their bond suffered in season 2 following Lisa’s controversial hot mic incident, during which she made serious accusations about Meredith, her family, and her home before storming out of a party. Lisa did apologize at the season 2 reunion, and their friendship appeared to be on the mend in season 3.
In early season 4, currently airing, Meredith and Lisa have expressed a desire to move past their feud, but their relationship may evolve in the upcoming episodes.
“We’re trying to find a new way to connect that works for both of us. Going back to how things were isn’t healthy,” Meredith shared with Us, acknowledging that their bond may never fully return to its previous state. “I don’t have the same level of trust that we used to. There are certain things I trust, but not everything. We need time to build and grow.”
Meredith is focused on rebuilding trust with Lisa, aiming for a level where they can give each other the benefit of the doubt and have open discussions, rather than letting outside influences worsen any lingering tensions. "We don't need total trust right now," she explained. "We just need enough trust to have these kinds of conversations without letting others fuel any negative feelings between us."
Meredith declined to reveal the RHOSLC cast members who have caused tension in her friendship with Lisa, stating, "I believe there has been interference in our friendship since season 1. It seems like it's almost everyone to some extent. I don't want to blame anyone specifically because it gets messy and everyone is quick to point fingers. In the end, I'm not really bothered by it."
