Monica Garcia of RHOSLC responds to Jeff Lewis' critique, addressing his remarks on her portrayal on the show Find out her candid reaction to being called depressing and how she feels about the BravoCon diss

On day one of BravoCon, Jeff Lewis caused controversy by criticizing Monica Garcia, the new addition to The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Speaking exclusively to We on Friday, November 3, Monica, 40, revealed that fans approached her during a photo session to express their dissatisfaction with Jeff's comments about her. Despite the backlash, Monica admits that she was completely unaware of what he had said.

During the "Ask Andy" panel in Las Vegas, Jeff, a 53-year-old Bravo executive, discussed the network's top shows alongside executive producer Andy Cohen. Expressing his opinion, Jeff questioned Monica's presence on the show, stating that he prefers Housewives who serve as a source of inspiration. He added that he felt "depressed" when witnessing Monica sharing her experiences with being on "food stamps" and facing challenges with her car payments.

Andy, who is 55 years old, defended the RHOSLC star who joined the show this year. He praised Monica by saying, "I want to share two things about Monica. Firstly, I believe she came across as extremely confident. In her second episode, there was a relatable and impactful moment where she felt insecure about her attire. It was one of the most significant moments ever seen on a Housewives show."

When asked about Jeff's remarks, Monica stated that she was unaffected because she didn't even know who he was.

"I have no idea who he is. What show does he even appear on?" she joked with Us. "Truly, I have no clue about his identity. Honestly, I really don't."

Besides not allowing Jeff's criticism to affect her, Monica's main goal is to fully enjoy her inaugural BravoCon.

“It’s awesome. It’s incredible. Yeah, it’s great,” she enthusiastically exclaimed last Friday, mentioning that the RHOSLC cast won't have their own panel due to their impending season 4 reunion. “I am eagerly anticipating the reunion. There is a plethora of things to address and discuss.”

Monica and her RHOSLC costars need to address the issue of their apparent lack of support regarding her estrangement from her mother, Linda. Their volatile relationship has been extensively covered throughout the season, culminating in a heated altercation at Angie Katsanevas' residence.

"I mean, to be honest, it's all of them," she expressed her disappointment in their lack of communication after the season ended. "I had hoped that, at the end of the day, there would still be a sense of humanity and care for each other within the group, and yeah, it would've been nice."

After watching scenes depicting the family drama, Monica admitted to shedding tears. "I don't even recall it being that terrible, which was a wake-up call for me," she reflected. "But being able to see it play out has actually been quite beneficial for me."
