Players will encounter the Congregator of Flesh as they attempt to cross the makeshift bridge after defeating Gentle Gaverus and her pack of hounds. Despite its large size, this boss is surprisingly fast, but its attacks are somewhat predictable. The main challenge lies in the fact that getting hit by the boss could lead to immediate death unless players block.

In this battle, parrying attacks should be disregarded. Instead, players should focus on evading and sprinting, while primarily attacking the boss's right leg, as this side is generally safer. To avoid the boss's devastating diving lunge attack, players should stay in close proximity to the Congregator of Flesh, as this attack is difficult to dodge and can instantly kill players even when they are guarding.

In addition to the lunge attack, players need to be cautious of the boss' overhead arm slams, backward and sideward rolls, trampling charge, and poison mist attacks. To prevent the boss from using its most dangerous moves, players should try to stay close to it at all times.

The most effective weapons against the Congregator of Flesh are bladed weapons such as the Thorned Crimson Rector Sword, the Old Mournstead Infantry Spear, or other similar choices. Players can tell if they are dealing more damage than usual to the boss if the damage number next to its health bar appears in red instead of white or gray. Additionally, the boss is particularly vulnerable to Smite/Holy damage.

Summoning an NPC to assist in this battle is not obligatory, but it is worth considering for players who are struggling to defeat the boss. Prior to descending into the pit, players will notice the outlines of Stomund and Pieta. It is highly recommended to summon Pieta as she deals respectable damage and possesses healing abilities with her Radiance spells. Additionally, don't hesitate to seek aid from a friend or a stranger.

Once the boss reaches below half of its health, it will start generating poisonous clouds following its body slam attacks. This will add complexity to positioning, but it is crucial to remain in close proximity to the boss nonetheless. Be cautious not to be inflicted with poison and continue the battle as usual.
