Lords of the Fallen Unveils Game-Changing Feature for Epic Launch

Lords of the Fallen, the upcoming game similar to Souls, developed by CI Games, will support both Nvidia's DLSS3 and AMD's FSR3 upscaling technologies on PC. This feature will enable PC gamers with compatible graphics cards to increase their frame rates without sacrificing too much in terms of graphics.

As a spiritual successor to the 2014 game with the same name, Lords of the Fallen will be available for console release on Friday, October 13 at midnight local time, and will have different release times throughout the day on Steam. Although it follows the 2014 title, CI Games and Hexworks do not classify it as a direct sequel. Being part of the collection of dark Soulsborne games like Elden Ring and Lies of P, Lords of the Fallen puts players in the shoes of a Dark Crusader as they strive to defeat the resurrected demon God Adyr. With nine starting classes and the chance to explore both the realms of the living and the dead, Lords of the Fallen allows players to engage in cooperative gameplay by inviting a second player to join.

Though the graphics of Lords of the Fallen are impressive, it can put a strain on certain systems. However, Nvidia has confirmed that the game will offer options to enhance performance on PC, including Nvidia's DLSS3. PC players with a compatible graphics card like the Nvidia RTX 4060 will have access to both DLSS and FSR options in the Display settings of Lords of the Fallen. Furthermore, Nvidia DLSS will take advantage of frame generation and Nvidia's image-sharpening technologies.

In addition, Twitch Partner Lirik recently confirmed in a stream that AMD's FSR will be available for gamers to choose from. Unfortunately, the stream was deleted for unknown reasons. Unlike DLSS, which is only compatible with Nvidia RTX graphics cards, AMD's FSR3 technology operates at the software level and can be utilized by most modern graphics cards. Although DLSS is generally favored by gamers, AMD is actively developing its own frame generation technology on a per-game basis to complement FSR's upscaling capabilities. It remains to be seen how many future games will incorporate FSR3, but as of now, Lords of the Fallen joins Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum on the list of games that support the technology.
