Unraveling the Final Destiny of Do-hee and Gu Won: A Demon Theory

My Demon captivates viewers with its unique tale of a chaebol heir and a demon entangled in a destined love story, leaving fans eagerly speculating on the thrilling twists that await in the final chapter

Fans of Netflix's My Demon K-drama are meticulously analyzing every detail in search of clues about the story's potential ending. A prevalent fan theory is now speculating about the outcome of Do-hee and Gu Won's love story.

When Do-hee (played by Kim Yoo-jung) loses her adoptive grandmother, her life takes an unexpected turn. Although not biologically related, she inherits the role of her company's CEO on the condition that she gets married. Prior to this, her destiny becomes entwined with that of a demon named Gu Won (played by Song Kang). His tattoo and powers are transferred to her, and the only way to prevent his disappearance is for him to remain at her side.

My Demon has captivated its fans with its fated storylines between the main characters, a hallmark of K-dramas. Fans have been given clues that Gu Won meeting Do-hee was not a mere coincidence. As someone is intent on harming Do-hee, her position as CEO, and her involvement in hidden secrets, Gu Won is also grappling with his own difficulties. He is losing his powers and transitioning into a human, leading to speculation about the direction of the K-drama's ending.

Do-hee and Gu Won will swap destines in My Demon

According to a fan theory on Twitter/X, hints throughout the K-drama and in Episode 8 tease that Do-hee will become an immortal demon and Gu Won will become human.

Gu Won, a 200-year-old demon collector, had no memory of his past until he met Do-hee and lost his powers. Without them, he feels a loss of his immortal self. Suddenly, he starts dreaming about his life as a human in the Joseon era and sees an unknown woman dancing with swords. Some fans believe that this woman is Do-hee. Additionally there is a theory that the homeless woman, who shares forewarnings, is actually God, suggested by her faded "Good" hat.

I have a theory that I need to share to keep from driving myself crazy. Here are some clues that further confirm my theory and introduce a painful possibility into the mix. #KimYooJung #SongKang #마이데몬티저 #MyDemonEp8 #MyDemon #MyDemonEp9 pic.twitter.com/Gm9KY7i4Gs

In Episode 3, she cautioned Gu Won that he would meet an “insignificant” demise. Coincidentally, Gu Won frequently uses the same term to describe people. This prophecy came true in the seventh episode when a deranged killer attacked Gu Won outside a theater. The theory is further supported by the homeless woman's comment about the 'wheel turning' in reference to the couple.

Her words are linked to the tarot card that Do-hee drew at the beginning of My Demon, the wheel of fortune. Her colleague explains that it can signify a predestined reunion. Interestingly, Gu Won and Do-hee happened to meet by chance on a blind date. The card also indicates that fate can be repeated, but is also influenced by a person's will and actions.

Gu Won and Do-hee have chosen to be together. The final clue of the My Demon theory is the card’s number – X, or 10, which symbolizes both the end and the start of a new beginning. The theory suggests that as Gu Won remembers his past, he is becoming human and will likely recall loving Do-hee in a previous life – but becoming a demon erased those memories. In turn, Do-hee being given Gu Won’s tattoo is also symbolic. According to the theory, Do-hee will become the next demon or was its original owner.

"The fan mentioned that in 2023, it's likely that he will remember loving her all his life, while she won't even remember who he is." Check out more TV & Movie content here, and for additional K-drama news visit this page.

As a passionate fan of the K-drama "My Demon," I am captivated by the intricate plot and the undeniable chemistry between the lead characters, Do-hee and Gu Won. The fan theory that suggests Do-hee will become an immortal demon while Gu Won transitions into a human is both intriguing and emotionally charged. The clues presented, such as Gu Won's fading powers and dreams of a past life, add depth to the narrative and hint at a complex destiny for the couple.

The idea that Do-hee may have been the woman Gu Won loved in his previous life, only to have those memories erased when he became a demon, adds a tragic element to their relationship. The symbolism of the tarot card, the wheel of fortune, further reinforces the notion of fate and predestination, leaving viewers wondering whether their love is truly meant to be or if it will ultimately lead to heartbreak.
