Chae-ok faces her mother once again

Taken hostage once again after killing Director Ichiro, Chae-ok is forced to face her mother again to see the effects on her surviving human side by Kato.

Prior to the episode, Chae-ok confesses to her father that the creature they had battled was actually her mother and his wife. Overwhelmed with guilt over her transformation, he leaves Chae-ok to make the right decision for the woman he loves and encourages her to live her own life. He then returns to Onseong Hospital. Meanwhile, upon discovering that Chae-ok has been captured, Tae-sang joins the resistance and devises a plan to permanently destroy it.

Kato compels the monster to confront Chae-ok once again, realizing that the najin is vulnerable when facing figures from its human past. The creature fiercely fights against its captors as it seeks out its daughter, growing increasingly furious and powerful. In response, Kato and the soldiers whisk Chae-ok away in an attempt to escape.

As this unfolds, Tae-sang returns to the hospital and locates Chae-ok’s father. He informs him that Chae-ok has been recaptured. Understanding their dire situation, her father implores Tae-sang to safeguard his daughter and ensure she has a good life. In a final act of selflessness to save her and bring peace to his wife, he detonates bombs throughout the hospital, ostensibly sacrificing himself alongside Chae-ok.

Amidst the pandemonium, Tae-sang shares with Chae-ok the incredible sacrifice made by her father. They also encounter Sachimoto, who expresses regret for her mother's actions. It becomes apparent that he played a part in her capture and implies a potential link to Yukiko. Unaware that the monster has survived and is now hunting Chae-ok, they make their escape back to town.

Tae-sang loses the woman he loves

During the battle against Yukiko’s men and the monster, Chae-ok sustains severe injuries but bravely sacrifices herself to save Tae-sang, her beloved, by allowing herself to be killed by her own mother.

Tae-sang has orchestrated an escape plan for himself and Chae-ok upon their return to town. However, they are unexpectedly ambushed by Yukiko and her men as they wait for Beom-o and a suitcase of money. Amid the chaos, Chae-ok sustains severe injuries while they fend off Yukiko's assassins. Just when it seems like they are about to meet their end, a mysterious monster intervenes, allowing Chae-ok and Tae-sang to flee to safety. Nevertheless, as they attempt to seek refuge, they encounter a new threat in the form of Chae-ok's mother who is not in her right state of mind. Despite Tae-sang's attempt to protect her, Chae-ok is forced to act in order to save them both.

In the conclusion of Gyeongseong Creature Part 2, Chae-ok is tragically killed by her own mother despite pleading for her to stop, as Tae-sang, the man she loves, watches helplessly. The remorseful monster backs away as Tae-sang tries to save Chae-ok. The scene shifts to Onseong, where Kato is discovered holding the deceased Akiko and her newborn baby. However, it is revealed that the najin has been transferred to the baby, as it opens its vibrant green monster-like eyes.

Gyeongseong Creature Part 2 ending leaves the door open

After the horrid events, Tae-sang gets his revenge on Yukiko but it’s later revealed she survived and presumably so has Chae-ok.

The ending of Gyeongseong Creature Part 2 will leave fans completely puzzled. After the destruction, Yukiko attends her husband's formal funeral where Jun-taek gives her a note saying "farewell." It becomes apparent that all the flower arrangements are from the characters, and Yukiko realizes what is about to happen. Just as she stands to check, the scene changes to show multiple bombs hidden under the flowers that detonate, supposedly killing Yukiko.

In a parallel scene, Tae-sang is back at his pawn shop, sitting as if waiting for Chae-ok to return, knowing she won't. However, things take a turn when Kato is seen speaking to a wheelchair-bound woman, making her a cup of water and asking if she will continue to explore new possibilities. The woman turns out to be Yukiko, who survived the blast but was severely scarred. In the cup is a najin.

The conclusion of Gyeongseong Creature Part 2 introduces another unexpected turn of events. A scene revisits Chae-ok’s death, this time showing her submerged in a lake or ocean with the monster, her mother, also present. Her mother calls out to her in her human form with a sorrowful expression. As a monster, the najin leaves her body and enters Chae-ok, leading to her awakening.

In a pre-credit scene, it is revealed that Korea is no longer under Japanese occupation, and there are fast-forwarded scenes depicting significant moments in history, including a pandemic. The real surprise comes when a man in modern attire opens the window of his apartment, revealing a deep scar on the back of his neck. Outside, modern-day Korea is seen. Someone enters and calls out “Ho-jae,” to which the man turns to reveal himself as Tae-sang.
