The next mission in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty's main mission list is called The Damned. It will start when Solomon Reed contacts V two in-game days after the previous mission, Lucretia My Reflection. During this conversation, Solomon Reed will provide players with their next objective for the mission.
The Damned delves deeper into conspiracy and distrust as the FIA team, responsible for locating and rescuing Songbird, gains a new member. In this mission, players will also engage with the Voodoo Boys. Those who have progressed through the main missions of Cyberpunk 2077 may already be aware that the involvement of the Voodoo Boys tends to bring negative consequences.
Head to The Moth Bar
In the southern part of Dogtown lies a small market district, where the main attraction is The Moth bar. To enter The Moth, players must wait until evening and can either arrive late at night or sit outside the bar. After some time, Solomon will contact them and inform them that he's on his way. However, players should meet him inside.
Upon entering, they will be greeted by the friendly bartender, Daphne. Players can choose to sit at the bar and order a drink of their preference or simply wait for Solomon to arrive. However, when Solomon does enter the bar, Daphne becomes displeased and instructs all other customers, except V and Solomon, to depart.
Talk to Alex
Solomon introduces Daphne to V and discloses that Daphne is actually Alex, the FIA agent who has been stranded in Dogtown for the past 7 years without any communication and under the belief that Solomon Reed had betrayed them. Holding a gun to Solomon's head, Alex reveals her ability to digitally conceal her true identity.
Players have the option to defuse the situation through dialogue, choosing silence, or demonstrating their skills by disarming Alex if they have 15 Reflex Attribute Points. Regardless of the approach, they can engage in conversation with Alex, showing her the FIA coin to calm her down. Alex then exits the building for a smoke, leaving Solomon concerned for their well-being. It is advisable to go outside and speak with Alex in an attempt to alleviate tension between her and Solomon Reed.
Once outside in the crisp air, players are at liberty to pose some queries to Alex. Regardless of their words, she will clarify her demands. She desires to retire from Dogtown in a manner befitting a spy, and upon receiving assurance of this, she will become a part of the team and return inside to discuss matters with Solomon.
Talk to Alex and Reed
With Alex now on board, she contributes her own twist to the story by advising Reed and V that acquiring Slider is crucial. Slider, a blind Netrunner affiliated with the Voodoo Boys, holds vital information that they can't afford to overlook. Alex promises to provide V with the exact coordinates needed to depart from The Moth. Once they receive this intel, players should promptly exit the bar and head towards their designated location. Meanwhile, Solomon and Alex can finally reunite and catch up on their lives after being apart for 7 long years.
Talk to Johnny
Meet Reed Near Slider’s Hideout
After departing from The Moth, Johnny will make an appearance and proceed to descend the steps. Should players choose to follow Johnny to the tree located in the very heart of the market, they will have the chance to reflect upon the significance of a tree that serves as a memorial for the deceased. This presents players with an opportunity to delve deeper into Johnny's character and establish a stronger connection with the legendary figure of the Afterlife. Alternatively, players may choose to dismiss Johnny and depart from the tree; nonetheless, receiving Johnny's perspective on the matter is always a pleasant experience.
After locating the marker, players have the option to either drive or walk to Slider's hideout, located within a Voodoo Boys' stronghold. The compound itself is heavily fortified, and players may choose to wait outside for Solomon Reed, who can provide assistance. Unfortunately, attempting to negotiate with the Voodoo Boys' guards will prove futile, as they won't grant V entry through mere words. Regardless of the approach players take to infiltrate Slider's hideout, danger and potential demise are inevitable.
Fight Inside
Players can acquire their iron and engage in a fierce confrontation with the Voodoo Boys, leaving no room for hesitation. Surmounting this challenge won't be a walk in the park, as a substantial number of guards stand in the way. In addition to eliminating the Voodoo Boys, players must also contend with the formidable Daemon server, boasting its own distinct boss fight health bar. The Daemon server can only be vanquished through timely assaults and demands the utmost attention from the player. As the monolith harbors a total of 4 servers and numerous adversaries, players can delve into the small compound to scavenge valuable treasures or proceed deeper within to locate Slider.
Sneak Inside
Solomon will provide insight on a covert approach to penetrating the compound, offering an alternative to a violent confrontation. Players opting for a stealthier strategy can locate a breach in the wall to the right of the entrance. It is worth noting that unlocking this entry point requires a strength level of 20 to force open the door. On the other hand, adventurous players can exit the building and ascend to the rooftop by leaping onto a red crate positioned to the right. By navigating along the scaffolding, they will discover an exposed access point enabling them to infiltrate the Voodoo Boys' compound undetected. Nevertheless, this route is slightly more time-consuming compared to the alternative of eliminating all adversaries within. Going loud during this particular segment may prove to be easier. However, for those committed to maintaining an elusive presence, it is advisable to proceed through the ventilation shaft, evading the concealed traps that lie in wait. Disarming these traps necessitates a level of intelligence equal to or exceeding 3.
Find Slider
Regardless of whether players used stealth or violence to infiltrate the compound, they must proceed to the back of the room and turn right. There, they will come across some industrial shutters that need to be opened in order to access the inner sanctum where Slider awaits. While Slider may be visually impaired, his connection to the Netrunner chair allows him to perceive everything, and he eagerly welcomes V and Solomon Reed into his stronghold.
Once inside this room, Slider will identify V as the individual responsible for Mama Brigitte's demise, should that be the path they chose in the main missions outside Phantom Liberty in Cyberpunk 2077. It serves as a meaningful acknowledgement of V's personal journey, but it does not provide any additional options to handle the situation with Slider. Regardless, Slider remains indifferent to whether the player opted for a more aggressive or stealthy approach, as the means of entry hold no significance to him. This encounter is not a negotiation; rather, it is an exploitation of Slider's unique abilities.
Talk to Songbird
Slider, unable to negotiate with Songbird and unwilling to take any chances, insists that V jack into the system to witness the state of the Relic. Resistance proves futile as players are forced to jack in, only to discover the perilous use of the Blackwall by Songbird, endangering all living beings. As a bridge connecting Songbird and V, Slider has no choice but to employ the Blackwall protocol.
Throughout the conversation, V enters and exits the Blackwall, requiring them to swiftly pose their questions to Songbird. Outside the Blackwall, this interaction drains Slider's vitality, necessitating a swift disconnection once the conversation concludes. Unfortunately, Slider's role as the bridge takes a devastating toll as the Blackwall consumes him, resulting in his demise and the detonation of the Voodoo Boys' Daemon server (unless players had already defeated it during their prior encounter). Tragically, Slider cannot be saved in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, and indications suggest that Solomon Reed intended to eliminate Slider regardless, further tarnishing his already dubious character. Notably, players may also observe Johnny casting a disapproving gaze upon Slider, with an air of condemnation towards Solomon.
Leave the Compound and Talk to Solomon
With the destruction of the Daemon server and the demise of Slider, the Voodoo Boys are now on high alert. While players may attempt to escape silently through the same route they arrived, it is advisable to eliminate all the Voodoo Boys since they no longer have the support of their precious Daemon server. Once another portion of the Voodoo Boys' faction has been destroyed, it is time to depart from the compound.
Just outside, players will engage in a conversation with Solomon, discussing the details of their interaction with Songbird. The next step involves contacting their Fixer, Mr. Hands, to proceed further. This concludes The Damned, as Solomon departs to supervise a crucial element of the upcoming puzzle.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is out now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
