In Fallout 76, players have the opportunity to take on the role of Zeta aliens. They can do so by utilizing Zeta alien weaponry and enhancing them with new Legendary weapon effects. Additionally, the game offers various structures, furniture, and rewards that are influenced by Zeta aliens. This enables players to construct their very own UFOs and gather Zeta alien memorabilia.

Zeta aliens are a recurring Easter egg and mysterious element in the Fallout franchise. The Mothership Zeta expansion in Fallout 3 is often considered one of the franchise's best examples of Zeta alien Easter eggs. However, Fallout 76 also offers its own interesting content and secrets related to aliens.

Following their brief appearances in Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4, Zeta aliens have a significant presence in Fallout 76. This includes unique weapons, a secret questline, a Seasonal Event, and numerous other references. As a result, Fallout 76 has become a major contributor to the franchise's alien lore.

Fallout 76 Lets Players Roleplay as Zeta Aliens

In Fallout 76, players have the opportunity to utilize Zeta alien weapons, a recurring feature in the franchise. However, what sets these weapons apart in Fallout 76 is the ability for players to enhance them with new Legendary effects. When paired with the Zeta alien Power Armor skins, players have the complete arsenal required to embody a Zeta alien character, equipped with a pistol, rifle, and/or melee weapon. The following Zeta alien weapons are currently accessible in Fallout 76:

Alien Blaster Pistol

Electro Enforcer

The Disintegrator Rifle expands the roleplaying potential by allowing players to unlock a range of Zeta alien-inspired structures and furniture for their CAMPs in Fallout 76. Some players have even developed clever CAMP-building techniques to construct their own UFOs and Zeta alien architecture, even without official furnishings. Additionally, previous Seasons and Scoreboards in Fallout 76 have offered numerous rewards with a Zeta alien theme, providing players with a vast array of Zeta alien memorabilia in this installment of the franchise.

Fallout 76’s Secret Zeta Alien Quest Is One of Its Best Easter Eggs

During the Invaders From Beyond Seasonal Event, a Public Event will occur on the hour, challenging players to defeat a swarm of Zeta aliens, with a special commander serving as the ultimate adversary. Normally, Zeta aliens can only be encountered during the Invaders From Beyond Seasonal Event. However, they have recently been added to the lineup of enemies that can appear in Fallout 76’s Daily Ops activity.

One way to experience the presence of Zeta aliens indirectly is by completing a series of secret missions in Fallout 76. These hidden quests take players on a challenging scavenger hunt with multiple stages. Successful completion of these quests will reward players with the keys to open several TNT Domes located at the Black Mountain Ordnance Works. However, only one player per server can collect these keys, creating a potential competition among players to finish the quest.

Unlocking the TNT Domes at the end of the quest provides players with rare rewards and an unexpected twist. Inside TNT Dome number eight, players will find a "top secret" terminal and a holotape audio recording labeled "the truth". Unfortunately, as soon as players try to interact with these objects, they will self-destruct abruptly. This elaborate prank pulls players tantalizingly close to solving the enigmatic alien mysteries of the Fallout franchise, only to reveal that it was all an orchestrated trick.

Besides the Zeta alien gear and secrets, there exists another alien race in Fallout 76 that players can come across. Taking inspiration from local folklore, the game introduces several new and distinct cryptids, including the Flatwoods Monster. Although the game never provides any explanation or details about this creature, it contributes to the enigmatic presence of aliens within the franchise. Some fans interpret the inclusion of aliens in Fallout 76 as a hint that these figures may play a significant role in future Fallout games, while others view it as a nod to an ongoing joke in the franchise. Fallout 76 is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
