Technique weapons are classified based on their quick attacks, allowing for agile playstyles in Lies of P. Although they may not have the same impact as weapons that scale off Motivity, their speed and aggressive capabilities compensate for it.
Although all weapons in Lies of P can be converted into Technique weapons through Cranks and Handle modifications, the following list exclusively features those originally designed to scale off the Technique stat. This maximizes the efficiency of Cranks and prevents players from having to switch handles.
Wintry Rapier
The Wintry Rapier, although a beginner's weapon, proves its worth throughout the campaign when upgraded. Its quick stabs and dependable Fable Arts make it an excellent option for any Technique build. While stabbing weapons may struggle against large groups of enemies, players can overcome this by isolating their targets. With sufficient skill and consistent use of weapon enhancements through the Grinder and consumables, the Wintry Rapier remains effective against even the toughest adversaries, just as it did from the moment it was obtained on the train.
Booster Glaive
The Booster Glaive is a powerful weapon with slow but impactful attacks that excel at closing gaps. By utilizing its Blade Fable Art and charged heavy attacks, players can propel themselves towards enemies to deliver devastating blows. However, it is important to note that the weapon's slow base attack speed is a trade-off.
The true value of the Booster Glaive lies in its ability to close distances quickly and its impressive Technique scaling. By equipping a Technique Crank, the weapon's Technique scaling can be further enhanced from a base scale of B to an impressive A. With this improvement, the Booster Glaive has the potential to eliminate most human-sized enemies in a single strike. Additionally, its unique rocket-powered handle allows for hit-and-run tactics, providing players with a versatile and effective strategy.
To obtain the Booster Glaive, players can open the chest located in the Puppet of the Future's pit within the Venigni Works area.
Dancer's Curved Sword
For players seeking a touch of novelty, the Dancer's Curved Sword presents itself as a desirable alternative. With its fluid motions emulating those of a dancer, it grants the advantage of swift attacks in comparison to other greatswords such as the Booster Glaive or Holy Sword of the Ark.
The Dancer's Curved Sword truly excels in speed, setting it apart as its greatest asset. Boasting considerable DPS potential, it proves to be an exceptional selection for those adept at repeatedly staggering foes or capitalizing on extensive recuperation periods. Seek out this weapon within a chest located on Rosa Isabelle Street, nearby the open air theatre where players engage in combat against the White Lady.
Tyrant Murderer's Dagger
This inconspicuous dagger, sold by Pulcinella, stands out from other weapons in the game due to its ability to deliver critical strikes. With a base critical rate of 30, each attack has a chance to inflict additional damage. Adding to its prowess is the Grind Fable Art, which raises the critical rate even higher.
The Tyrant Murderer's Dagger does suffer from limited range, a characteristic common to all knives. However, this drawback can be advantageous for those skilled in close combat. It is important to mention that even when paired with different handles, this blade maintains its ability to deliver critical hits. One recommended option is pairing it with the City Long Spear Handle, as this will allow it to retain a B scaling on Technique while keeping its stab-focused moveset intact.
Puppet Ripper
The scythe wielded by Puppet King Romeo boasts an impressive range, potentially surpassing that of any other two-handed melee weapon in the game. When fully charged, its heavy attack launches the blade, allowing it to whip around players before returning to its original position. While it excels at striking distant adversaries, its true power lies in its ability to bypass obstacles and strike targets hidden behind cover.
Unlike other weapons, charged attacks from the Puppet Ripper do not rebound when hitting environmental objects. Even if players and their intended targets are shielded by carriages, low walls, trees, or similar structures, the Puppet Ripper will still successfully hit its mark. However, it is still a capable weapon in other situations, so feel free to engage in proper duels without hesitation.
Two Dragons Sword
The Two Dragons Sword stands out among all the weapons in LIes of P as the only one capable of achieving an S scaling in Technique. As a result, it deals the highest amount of damage when used in a Technique build. Additionally, its moveset is also impressive.
The Two Dragons Sword is a unique weapon centered around counter-attacks. Its powerful heavy attack allows players to parry oncoming strikes and swiftly retaliate with a devastating flourish that often leaves enemies staggering. Furthermore, the weapon's Blade Fable Art enables players to evade forward, providing them with more opportunities to continue their assault.
Proof of Humanity
The weapon obtained by defeating the final boss in the game is not only powerful but also visually impressive. It has a rapid slashing ability with heavy attacks and also possesses a default critical strike feature, similar to the Tyrant Murderer's Dagger. While it may not scale as effectively with Technique as the Two Dragons Sword, it still inflicts significant damage due to its inherent critical chance.
The only drawback to the Proof of Humanity is that it is primarily useful in NG+ and subsequent playthroughs since it is only dropped by the final boss. It will not necessarily make the initial campaign run easier, but it does provide an enjoyable and formidable tool for players seeking more of the game's intense combat.
Lies of P is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
