Loki is making a comeback on Disney+ for season 2, leaving Marvel fans on the edge of their seats after the thrilling cliffhanger in 2021.
In the closing of the first installment sci-fi series, Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) and Sylvie (played by Sophia Di Martino) found themselves in an alternate timeline, having confronted He Who Remains, also known as Kang (played by Jonathan Majors). This all-knowing being presented Loki and Sylvie with an incredible opportunity - to take charge of the Time Variance Agency (TVA) and oversee all the timelines together. However, as both of them are variants of the mischievous god, the multiverse seeks to keep them apart. Despite this, Loki, who has developed feelings for Sylvie, is willing to assume control of the TVA if it means they can be together.
Unfortunately, Sylvie is determined to eliminate Kang after a lifetime of evading the TVA. She passionately kissed Loki and thrust him through a portal, intending to free the multiverse by slaying Kang. Upon awakening at the TVA, Loki discovered that Morbius (Owen Wilson) no longer recognized him, and a statue of Kang had taken the place of the Time Keepers' monument. Evidently, Loki had mistakenly ventured into an alternate timeline. Now the question remains: will he manage to find his way back?Scroll down for everything we know so far about Loki season 2:

'Loki' Season 2: Everything to Know About Tom Hiddleston's Return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe
The time has come to do the time warp once more! Loki is making his triumphant return to Disney+ for season 2, leaving Marvel fans anxiously awaiting the continuation of the thrilling storyline that had audiences on the edge of their seats in 2021.
In the climactic finale of the first installment of this mind-bending sci-fi series, Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) finds himself in an alternate timeline alongside Sylvie (portrayed by Sophia Di Martino) after their showdown with He Who Remains, also known as Kang (played by Jonathan Majors). This all-knowing entity presents Loki and Sylvie with a game-changing proposition — they have the opportunity to take control of the Time Variance Agency (TVA) and oversee the countless timelines together. However, as variants of the mischievous deity, the multiverse strives to keep them apart. Nevertheless, Loki, deeply enamored with Sylvie, is willing to assume the role of running the TVA if it means they can remain together.
Sylvie, having spent her entire life evading the TVA, is now resolute in her mission to kill Kang. In a fervent act, she shares a passionate kiss with Loki and forcefully propels him through a portal, allowing her to confront Kang and unleash the multiverse. Upon awakening at the TVA, Loki realizes that Morbius (Owen Wilson) does not recognize him, and a statue of Kang has replaced the Time Keepers' monument. Evidently, Loki has ended up in an incorrect timeline, leaving uncertain his ability to find a way back.

What Will 'Loki' Season 2 Be About?
Marvel Studios does not like spoilers, so exact details are top secret. However, writer Michael Waldron promised there's a strong emotional arc.
"In order for me to consider creating the show, it must offer a new and compelling story for this character," he expressed during an interview on Deadline's "Hero Nation" podcast in May 2022. "We wanted to explore new emotional territory with Loki, which was the only way to proceed with season 2. And we definitely achieved that. It's a fantastic continuation of the narrative, diverging from what we saw in season one and hopefully surpassing expectations."
Sylvie's storyline will take a significant turn. Di Martino shared that her character will grapple with complex emotions following the loss of Loki and the killing of Kang. "That final moment is absolutely devastating," she disclosed to Marvel.com in July 2021. "She believed that she would finally find the relief she had sought her entire life. She had built it up in her mind so much. Finally, she kills the man who caused it all, and yet she feels nothing. She remains angry, bitter, and sad, as she has always been. But there's just emptiness, and that's truly heartbreaking."
However, according to Di Martino, there is no superior method to commence Sylvie's second season arc. She further expounds, stating that it remains to be seen what she will do with the profound sadness. Embarking on another chapter from this intriguing standpoint holds great potential.

Why Does Sylvie Have a New Look?
Di Martino was seen on set in July 2022 donning an outfit reminiscent of a 1970s McDonald's uniform, complete with a distinct hairstyle that closely resembled a mullet. Given the context of this being Loki, it raises the question among viewers whether this is Sylvie, the character introduced in the previous season, or a different variant who happens to bear the same appearance.

Is There New Footage From 'Loki' Season 2?
In a 2023 Disney+ trailer narrated by Hiddleston, fans got a sneak peek of the new season with fresh footage. Among the scenes, one captured Loki in mid-fall, while others offered close-up shots of his face. The most significant moment showcased Wilson's Morbius as he reprimanded the mischievous God, questioning the over-the-top antics with two identical Lokis in close proximity.
In the late of July 2023, a complete trailer was unveiled, showcasing Loki and Morbius as they approach OB (Ke Huy Quan). OB clarifies that Loki is now "time slipping," which is considered impossible. It appears that Loki is being pulled through time, resembling the glitching effects observed by the characters in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse when they ventured into other dimensions.
