Upon launching Baldur's Gate 3, players will find themselves aboard the Nautiloid, faced with the pressing task of making a daring escape. However, their journey to freedom is far from straightforward, as the controls are located in a remote area on the prison deck. Along their turbulent path, players will encounter a multitude of peculiarities while searching for a secure passage off the vessel.

In one such instance, players will come across a room housing restrained creatures referred to as 'Sacrificed Cultists,' bound to chairs. Interacting with the Sacrificed Cultists can be done by clicking on the first button located on the left. Although this action doesn't yield any immediate results, it does provide the player with valuable new information. Similar to the player character, these Sacrificed Cultists have also fallen victim to the intellect devourer parasite.

Middle Button Results (Button 2)

In contrast to the player character, these unfortunate individuals made a seemingly "voluntary" decision (though it's difficult to determine true voluntariness when a Mind Flayer is involved). Moreover, they have reached an irreparable state of being consumed, unable to return. Regrettably, players are unable to acquire another intellect devourer companion like they had done before, leaving them with the unfortunate choice of either abandoning these victims or terminating their existence.

Pressing the central button, labeled as button two, will rouse the dormant Cultists who have been offered as sacrifices, initiating a remarkably straightforward combat encounter. The players will have the opportunity to acquire experience points and plunder, although this will be counterbalanced by the somber challenge of engaging in combat with two Cultists who have not yet fully transformed into intellect devourers.

Right Button Results (Button 3)

There is no need for gamers to swap party members during this battle. However, since they are aware of its occurrence, they can strategically position themselves to strike as soon as the Sacrificed Cultists rise from their seats. Be sure to search the corpses afterwards to obtain valuable rewards.

By pressing button 3 located on the right side, the Sacrificed Cultists meet an immediate demise. Opting for this course of action eliminates the requirement of assistance from friends during any subsequent battles. Lae'zel's response is to label the main character as a "Fool" but it appears to have no significant impact on her relationship with them.

Please note that players can still loot the bodies but will not receive experience rewards. Due to the simplicity of the fight, it is generally recommended to engage the Sacrificed Cultists and avoid Lae'zel's snarky comment, making the middle button the preferred choice in most situations.

Baldur's Gate 3 is currently accessible in Early Access on PC and will release on August 3rd, 2023. The PlayStation 5 version will launch on September 6th, 2023. The development for the Xbox Series X/S version is still underway.
