Obtaining scrap in Remnant 2 is not a simple task, especially in the beginning. Players will often find themselves struggling to accumulate enough scrap to meet their needs during the initial stages of the game.

Fortunately, there are numerous valuable items that can be sold in this game. Moreover, players can repurchase these items from NPCs later when they have an abundance of scrap. With this in mind, let's discuss the top items that should unquestionably be sold in Remnant 2.

7 Corrupted & Regular Lumenite Crystals

Let's begin by discussing Lumenite Crystals, which come in two versions: default Crystals for weapon upgrades and Corrupted Lumenite Crystals for Mutator upgrades.

After upgrading one or two Mutators to maximum level, players usually stick with them for a while, unless they come across the perfect Mutator for their build. So, while waiting to find that ideal Mutator, why not sell those Crystals and repurchase them later when necessary? Selling Lumenite Crystals can be challenging since they are crucial for weapon upgrades, but once players have upgraded their preferred weapons to level 10 or 20, depending on the weapon type, it becomes somewhat easier to part with a few Lumenite Crystals as needed.

6 Unwanted Boss Materials

In many modern games, the popular playstyle among gamers is what is known as the 'completionist' approach. This involves attempting to collect all items and fully experience the game in the first playthrough. However, not every game encourages this style of play. In Remnant 2, for example, players will likely find themselves fighting bosses multiple times, either to acquire Scrap or to assist a friend in co-op.

Considering this, if players come across a Material from a boss during their gameplay, which they then bring back to McCabe to create a Weapon Mod or Weapon, only to discover that they have no interest in the resulting product, they can opt to sell it for now. Rest assured, it can be repurchased at a later time if required. This selling mechanism also enables players to 'trade' with one another. Alternatively, players can choose to defeat the boss once more in order to obtain another copy of the item for personal use or to sell once again.

5 Weapon Upgrade Materials

Selling upgrade materials becomes a viable strategy in Remnant 2 for players who have only upgraded their weapons a few times. As players progress and spend more than 20 hours in the game, they will find themselves with an excess of certain types of Iron while lacking others.

This surplus is a result of using the Iron of that tier to upgrade weapons to higher levels such as +5 or +10. Once these upgrades are complete, there is no immediate need for that specific type of Iron (regular, Forged Iron, or Galvanized Iron). Therefore, it is advisable for players to sell their excess Iron to Cass and repurchase it later when needed.

Although this approach may contradict hoarding tendencies, it ultimately reduces the grinding required for purchasing items in Remnant 2.

4 Blood Moon Essence

Most players often overlook selling this particular item as it holds great value when actively pursued. However, once these players realize the lucrative price at which each Blood Moon Essence is sold, they will relentlessly search for Bloodmoons in Yaesha, as if they were striving to unlock the Summoner once again.

For those unfamiliar, during a Blood Moon event in Yaesha, players will encounter these violet 'Root Wisps' floating around. By shooting them, players immediately obtain 1x Blood Moon Essence, which serves as a form of currency at the Bloodmoon Altar. However, once players have purchased everything they desire from the Altar, there is little to no reason to hold onto these Essences. Therefore, they tend to accumulate dust the longer players delay selling them.

3 Unused Or Unloved Concoctions

Selling unused Concoctions is likely the least popular choice among players. After all, Concoctions are temporary buffs with long durations, so it makes more sense for players to keep them and use them instead of selling them for a small amount of Scrap. However, there are certain Concoctions that players prefer, while there are a few that most players have probably forgotten exist in the game.

This option is only recommended when the Traveler is just short of a few hundred or thousand Scrap to purchase the desired item or upgrade. Once players have these Concoctions in their inventory and talk to Mudtooth, he will start selling them in his shop.

2 Consumables Of All Types

Players will come across a variety of Consumables while exploring different worlds like Losomn or N'Erud. These items, such as Bandages, Antidotes, Rocket Fuel, and more, provide temporary stat boosts or cure specific ailments. However, many players tend to collect these Consumables without actually using or purchasing them. As a result, they unintentionally accumulate a surplus over time. Although individual Consumables do not fetch high prices, selling them for Scrap proves more advantageous in the long run, especially when players have no intention of using them. Prior to selling, it is recommended to visit both Dr. Norah's and Reggie's shops to see if any Consumables that may be needed in the future are available. Similar to Mudtooth, these NPC Merchants also possess a gimmick where they offer items that players already have in their inventory.

1 Poisoned Ambit Ember Capsule

Lastly, let's conclude with perhaps the most specialized item in the game, the Poisoned Ambit Ember Capsules. These capsules, given by the Custodian during the World Boss encounter with Tal'Ratha in N'Erud, serve a very specific purpose: to temporarily stun Tal'Ratha if used correctly.

The intention is for players to throw the capsules into Tal'Ratha's mouth when it is performing a vacuum attack to pull players in. However, the success rate of these capsules is quite low. Most of the time, they either explode in the player's hand, entirely miss their target, or connect with Tal'Ratha's mouth without triggering the desired staggering effect. It is evident that these capsules often fail to function as intended.

Considering this, it is advisable for players to sell these capsules whenever the Custodian provides them during subsequent N'Erud runs.
