Unlock the Ultimate Power: Unveiling the Hidden Class in Remnant 2!

Unlock the enigmatic Archetype class in Remnant 2 by delving into the depths of its third-person shooter gameplay, revealing the secrets hidden within the game's data through the art of datamining

Highlights

A secret Archetype in Remnant 2 can only be unlocked through datamining the game, making it nearly impossible for regular players to discover on their own.

The Archon was a mysterious class that players knew was there but couldn't work out how to access. Developer Ben Cureton revealed that unlocking it involved delving into the game's code.

The developers purposely designed the Archon to be discovered through datamining, fully expecting that players would eventually unveil the game's hidden elements and share them with the community. This fosters online interaction and ultimately benefits Gunfire Games.

A hidden Archetype for Remnant 2 can only be accessed through datamining the game. Although Remnant 2 has been out for a week, players may have thought they had already uncovered all the game's class Archetypes. However, a surprising discovery has revealed a secret Archetype. Unlocking this Archetype would be extremely difficult without the assistance of a dataminer to uncover its secrets.

In total, Remnant 2 offers eleven unique Archetypes, each with their own abilities and playstyles. Four Archetypes, namely the Medic, Hunter, Challenger, and Handler, can be unlocked by all players from the beginning of the game for a small Scrap cost. However, an additional six classes, including the Gunslinger, Explorer, Summoner, Alchemist, Engineer, and Invader, require more effort to unlock. Players must complete the Remnant 2 campaign, locate hidden areas, or overcome other challenges. Finally, we have the enigmatic Archon.

Players of Remnant 2 have long believed in the existence of the Archon archetype, but were perplexed about how to unlock it. The reason for their confusion is that there was no straightforward method to do so. Developer Gunfire Games intentionally made it impossible without further guidance. Principal designer Ben Cureton acknowledged on Twitter that unlocking the Archon required players to delve into the game's code itself.

Cureton went on to explain that the Gunfire team understood that players would inevitably resort to datamining to uncover all of the game's secrets. In light of this, they designed the Archon to be exclusively revealed through datamining. This way, dataminers would have the opportunity to discover the secrets and then freely share the means to unlock the Archon with the Remnant 2 community.

The secret to unlocking the Archon in Remnant 2 has finally been revealed, saving players the need to datamine the game themselves. However, the demanding requirements necessary for unlocking it highlight that it would have remained undiscovered otherwise. Players must possess specific skills from the Invader and Explorer Archetypes, obtain specific equipment such as accessories, armor, and weapons, and then locate a hidden door within the challenging Labyrinth. And that's just to gain access to the initial stage.

Modern game developers are increasingly going to great lengths to foster online "engagement." In the case of Remnant 2, locking an entire class behind this process ensures that players actively search for it online. Of course, the players still need to put in the effort themselves. However, if their actions simultaneously help Remnant 2 gain popularity on platforms like Google, Gunfire ultimately benefits from it.

Remnant 2 is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
