Nintendo has revealed additional information about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's upcoming DLC expansion, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk. The new DLC features a flying mechanic that will be available in the main Paldea region, and players will have the option to "synchronize" with a Pokemon to take on their form.

As previously announced, the DLC allows players to temporarily fly on either Koraidon (for Pokemon Scarlet players) or Miraidon (Violet). However, as players progress through the expansion, they will be able to permanently unlock the ability to fly, including in the main Paldea region from the base game.

Players can now experience the new Synchro Machine device in this expansion, which allows them to view the world from the perspective of their Pokemon. In the trailer, the player-trainer is shown controlling Pikachu and racing against other Pokemon on tracks reminiscent of Pokemon Dash. The Synchro Machine becomes available to players once they have completed their assistance to one of the scientists with her research.

Upon completing the main story of the DLC, a new character named Snacksworth is introduced in The Indigo Disk. Assisting Snacksworth with Blueberry Quests will reward players with snacks, providing them with the opportunity to encounter Legendary Pokemon from previous generations, now within the world of Paldea.

Since its launch late last year, Pokemon Scarlet/Violet has been consistently updated, including monthly Tera Raids and the reintroduction of Pokemon from previous generations such as Charizard, Blaziken, and Decidueye. The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero Part One: The Teal Mask was also added. The Indigo Disk DLC completes The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero on September 13, 2023, and launches on December 14, 2023. The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero can be purchased on the Nintendo Switch eShop for $35 USD for either Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet.

As a passionate Pokemon fan, I am thrilled about the upcoming DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The Indigo Disk DLC introduces a new flying mechanic that allows players to soar through the vast Paldea region, which is an exciting addition to the game. The ability to permanently unlock the flying feature in the main Paldea region is a fantastic enhancement that will greatly enhance the exploration aspect of the game.

The Synchro Machine device, which enables players to view the world from the perspective of their Pokemon, adds a unique and immersive element to the gameplay. The concept of racing against other Pokemon on tracks reminiscent of Pokemon Dash brings back nostalgic memories and adds a fun and competitive aspect to the game. The introduction of a new character named Snacksworth and the Blueberry Quests adds depth to the storyline and provides an opportunity to encounter Legendary Pokemon from previous generations within the Paldea region.
