How to Complete "We Love Loyalty Plaza" (Getting the Flash Jinbei)

Character customization in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet offers trainers the ability to alter the shape of their eyes, eyebrows, and mouth. This can be done either at the beginning of a new game or by pressing the left button on the directional pad. While this level of customization is a first for the mainline Pokemon games, many fans feel that the wardrobe options in Scarlet/Violet are underwhelming, especially when compared to Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Although players can choose from different socks, shoes, hats, gloves, and glasses, they are unable to change out of their school uniform. While there are four uniform variants available, one for each season, some players find this to be insufficient.

In part one of the expansion pass for Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, titled "The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero," new outfits were introduced, including The Teal Mask. During the Teal Mask storyline, players will obtain the Festival Jinbei (Green) along with two other jinbeis. However, the Flash Jinbei requires the completion of a relatively lengthy side quest in Kitakami, which players may easily overlook if not exploring thoroughly.

Billy & O'Nare First Location (Kitakami Road & Apple Hills)

Master the Art of Catching Flash Jinbei: Unleash the Power of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (Complete Guide to Finding All Billy and O'Nare Locations)

Billy and O'Nare, also known as "The Glitterati," are distinctive characters featured in The Teal Mask. Recognizable by their dazzling golden outfits and matching sunglasses, they can easily be spotted from a distance. However, if players are unaware of their whereabouts, they may unknowingly pass them by. Interacting with Billy and O'Nare presents an opportunity to embark on a side quest that involves tracking them down throughout Paldea and Kitakami. While they provide hints about their next destination, they do not specify their exact location.

The initial encounter with Billy and O'Nare takes place on the hill between Apple Hills and Kitakami Road. Positioned overlooking the rice paddies along Kitakami Road, they stand out amidst other non-playable characters with their distinctive yellow textbox. Engaging in conversation with either character triggers a scene, followed by O'Nare challenging the player character to a battle. Players can initiate the battle by speaking to her again after preparing themselves.

O'Nare (Battle 1)

O'Nare's Pokemon levels in Kitakami do not change according to the player's progress in the main story, unlike most other trainers. They are consistently at level 65 or higher. Therefore, it is advisable to commence the side quest once Scarlet/Violet's primary storyline is completed.

If players speak to O'Nare again, she'll ask if they're ready to battle. Even if players select "No," they'll be forced to battle anyway.

Fighting-type Pokemon is the only weakness of Normal-type Persian. Nevertheless, O'Nare ensured that her Persian could overcome this weakness by teaching it Play Rough, a Fairy-type move that deals physical damage and is highly effective against Fighting-type Pokemon. Additionally, O'Nare's Persian possesses the Limber Ability, which prevents it from being paralyzed.

Defeating O'Nare rewards players with 17,420 poke dollars. The amount can potentially double if they have a Pokemon equipped with the Amulet Coin or use a prize money-increasing move like Pay Day or Happy Hour. Additionally, players who pre-ordered the expansion pass before October 31, 2023, received a free Mystery Gift code via email. This code can be redeemed in-game for a Hisuian Zoroark with the move Happy Hour.

After being defeated, O'Nare expresses a desire to visit one of Paldea's big waterfalls. This narrows down the possible locations to Casseroya Lake and Fury Falls. To continue the quest, players must return to Paldea and locate O'Nare and Billy.

Billy & O'Nare Second Location (Fury Falls)

Master the Art of Catching Flash Jinbei: Unleash the Power of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (Complete Guide to Finding All Billy and O'Nare Locations)

Billy and O'Nare will be situated at Fury Falls, making the nearest travel spot the Pokemon Center in North Province (Area Two). Proceed onward towards the waterfall that faces the Pokemon Center and ascend the right cliff. Engage in conversation with Billy and O'Nare to obtain a total of 15 Big Pearls. Subsequently, Billy and O'Nare will depart once more.

Each Big Pearl can be sold for 4000 units, yet it is advisable for players to retain them in storage until the completion of the Glitterati side quest.

Billy & O'Nare Third Location (South Province Area 5)

Master the Art of Catching Flash Jinbei: Unleash the Power of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (Complete Guide to Finding All Billy and O'Nare Locations)

Billy and O'Nare proceed to a more remote area, which is less well-known than the previous two. To reach this area, players must go to South Province (Area 5) and either take a flying taxi to Los Platos or visit the Pokemon Center at Secluded Beach. The Glitterati can be found on a hill near the tall mountain in South Province (Area 5). To get there, one can either travel west from Secluded Beach or east from Los Platos.

If players listen to O'Nare's life lessons again, she will reward them with 15 Nuggets. Similar to the Big Pearls, it is advisable to hold onto these until the end of the quest, as they will be useful for acquiring the Flash Jinbei. Once players have completed this task, the Glitterati will return to Kitakami, but the quest is not yet finished.

Billy & O'Nare Fourth Location (Apple Hills)

Return to Kitakami and head to Apple Hills, where you will find the duo positioned near the orchards. If you're having trouble locating them, they can be found slightly to the northwest of the Terastallized Applin. Remember to restore your health before approaching O'Nare.

O'Nare Battle 2

Master the Art of Catching Flash Jinbei: Unleash the Power of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (Complete Guide to Finding All Billy and O'Nare Locations)

This time, there are no life lessons in store for the player. Instead, O'Nare is eager to engage in another thrilling battle. Similar to their initial encounter, players will have the option to replenish their strength before facing O'Nare or confront her at a later occasion. Luckily, if trainers encountered little difficulty in the first battle, the second round should prove to be a breeze.

Once again, O'Nare opts to deploy her Persian, which remains at a stagnant level of 65. It appears that she has not put any effort into improving its skill set. Utilize the identical tactics as employed in the previous encounter to emerge triumphant. Since Persian's moves have not undergone any enhancements, this plan of action should prove effective. Reaping an identical monetary reward as before, O'Nare stays consistent in this aspect as well.

Billy & O'Nare Fifth Location (Casseroya Lake)

After another defeat, O'Nare is eager to return to Paldea. Her objective this time is to witness the mesmerizing "giant lake in Paldea," thus it is crucial to ensure that Koraidon/Miraidon possesses the ability to swim. Otherwise, our quest to reach the Glitterati will be rendered impossible.

Master the Art of Catching Flash Jinbei: Unleash the Power of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (Complete Guide to Finding All Billy and O'Nare Locations)

Billy and O'Nare are located on the lower left island of Casseroya Lake. To easily reach them, you can choose to either take a flight to Casseroya Lake and head southwest or opt for a flight to Port Marinada and head north. During the encounter, O'Nare will refrain from engaging in battles. Instead, she graciously offers trainers 10 Pearl Strings as a parting gift. These valuable items possess greater worth than Big Pearls and are considered even rarer, making them an excellent choice for a rewarding token.

Billy & O'Nare Sixth Location (Glaseado Mountain)

Master the Art of Catching Flash Jinbei: Unleash the Power of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (Complete Guide to Finding All Billy and O'Nare Locations)

Now, the Glitterati are eager to visit the slopes of Paldea: Glaseado Mountain. However, locating them there may prove to be a bit more challenging – despite their flashy attire. The most effective approach is to travel north from Montenevera. They can be found near the cliff-side, but if players still have difficulty finding them, they can refer to the provided image for their precise location.

There won't be any battles this time, so simply accept the 10 Big Nuggets from O'Nare and prepare to locate the Glitterati one final time. They will mention their desire to see the Great Crater of Paldea, making it easier to find them there compared to Glaseado Mountain.

Billy & O'Nare Final Location (Great Crater of Paldea)

Master the Art of Catching Flash Jinbei: Unleash the Power of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (Complete Guide to Finding All Billy and O'Nare Locations)

Unfortunately, the Glitterati were denied permission to enter the Great Crater of Paldea, so they now occupy the surrounding mountains, contemplating their entrance strategy. You can find them atop the lower right mountains that encircle the Great Crater of Paldea. To reach them, simply fly to the East Gate of Mesagoza or the entrance of South Province (Area 3). From there, head north and ascend the cliff side alongside Koraidon/Miraidon towards the marked objective/flag on the image above.

To gain access to the climbing ability, players must have discovered all five Herba Mystica during the "Path of Legends" main quest.

Even if players haven't initiated the main quest "The Way Home," they can still come across O'Nare and Billy. The chosen response to O'Nare's question holds no significance and does not affect the gameplay. However, she will still be eager to engage in another battle.

O'nare (Final Battle)

In the first two battles, Arboliva was on par with Persian in terms of power. Although it has a slow attacking style, both of its moves benefit from the Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB). Additionally, it has the ability to utilize Leech Seed and Grassy Terrain. Its Special Defense is quite robust, so players may have greater success by targeting it with physical attacks that have a type advantage, such as Fire Punch, Drain Punch, or Low Kick.

O'Nare appears to have taken note of her past mistakes, as Persian has now gained 4 levels and undergone a change in its move set. This time around, Persian no longer possesses Play Rough, but instead, it now has Thunderbolt, a move capable of electrocuting Flying-type Pokémon and scorching Water-type Pokémon. It is likely that this move has been included to exploit Arboliva's type weakness, although it may not prove to be highly effective for Persian.

In the event that trainers succeed in defeating O'Nare, they will receive a reward of 35052 in monetary compensation. Once again, this prize money can be doubled if players utilize a Pokémon equipped with the Amulet Coin or employ moves that increase the amount of money earned after battles.

How to Complete "We Love Loyalty Plaza" (Getting the Flash Jinbei)

: Finally, after a long pursuit, O'Nare and Billy successfully capture the elusive Glitterati. As a token of their appreciation, they present the player character with a Glitterati Case and the exciting Oh No! Emote. Now that this task is completed, players should return to Kitakami to complete the final step and obtain the Flash Jinbei.

Master the Art of Catching Flash Jinbei: Unleash the Power of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet (Complete Guide to Finding All Billy and O'Nare Locations)

Head to Kitakami Hall and approach the Caretaker stationed by the shrine adjacent to the Ogre Oustin' minigame. Engage in a discussion with him where he expresses his desire to restore the sacred shrine of the Loyal Three by organizing a charitable event named the "We Love Loyalty Plaza" fundraiser. Nonetheless, he faces a significant hurdle as he urgently requires a staggering amount of 1000000 in funds. With the residents of Kitakami showing no enthusiasm for contributing, the responsibility of financing the restoration project falls squarely on the player's shoulders.

Fortunately, if trainers refrain from selling or spending the treasures bestowed upon them by O'Nare, they can effortlessly acquire 1,000,000. Simply visit any store and sell all items in the Treasures Pocket of the Bag in bulk (by pressing (+)). Selling the treasures obtained from O'Nare alone can yield 935,000. If players also remember to double their winnings from battles with O'Nare, they should already possess approximately 100,000, which will bring them over the 1,000,000 mark.

Engage in a conversation with the Caretaker and select the option "I'll give 100,000." Unfortunately, players will have to choose this option 10 times until enough funds are accumulated, as there is no manual input for the 1,000,000 amount. Once all the money has been contributed to the Caretaker, the Loyal Three Shrine will be reconstructed, and players will finally receive the Flash Jinbei as a reward.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are available for Nintendo Switch.
