How to Find a Sussur BloomWhat to do with Sussur Blooms
In the realm of Baldur's Gate 3, an acclaimed RPG developed by Larian Studios, players are immersed in the enchanting world of Dungeons & Dragons' Forgotten Realms. This beloved setting, brimming with a wealth of history and popularity, provides a vast array of mythical beings, magical spells, and coveted objects for Baldur's Gate 3 to tap into.
Within Baldur's Gate 3, an assortment of extraordinary and captivating artifacts awaits discovery. From fabled holy weapons to ancient relics infused with mysterious abilities, players are bound to encounter a myriad of fantastical possessions. Particularly intriguing are the elusive Sussur Blooms, exceptionally rare flowers found deep within the depths of the Underdark, renowned for their ability to counteract magic.
How to Find a Sussur Bloom
Sussur Blooms can only be found on Sussur Trees, which are exclusive to the Underdark, a vast underground realm in Baldur's Gate 3. Throughout the game, players can stumble upon a few Sussur Trees, starting with one located at the base of the Arcane Tower near its rear entrance. To obtain the Blooms, players must navigate through or around the tower, being cautious of its magical turrets, in order to reach the Sussur Tree.
This smaller tree appears to be a sprout of a larger Sussur Tree situated to the north, next to the Myconid Grove. Players can collect multiple Sussur Blooms from this main tree by running along its branches, although they will have to overcome the Hook Horror defenders in the process.
What to do with Sussur Blooms
Sussur Blooms are vital in the Underdark for powering the generator of the Arcane Tower. By placing a Sussur Bloom into the generator, players can activate the Tower's elevator and lighting system, while also disabling the Arcane Turrets that pose a threat near the entrance.
In addition to their use in the generator, Sussur Blooms possess anti-magic qualities that offer interesting tactical advantages. Carrying a Sussur Bloom creates an anti-magic field around the character, preventing them and those nearby from casting spells. It also disrupts Concentration and suppresses any magical effects. While this may inconvenience spellcasters in the party, it proves highly effective as a tool against enemy spellcasters. A nimble and spell-free character, such as Baldur's Gate 3's Monk, can swiftly approach an enemy wizard and neutralize their primary ability.
While Sussur Blooms are highly effective against spellcasters in Baldur's Gate 3, they possess one critical weakness. As plants native to the Underdark, Sussur Blooms lose their potency when exposed to the surface, rendering them ineffectual. Hence, players must ensure to fully utilize these unique flowers during their exploration of the subterranean realm.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently accessible on PC and is set to be released for PlayStation 5 on September 6, 2023.
