Gunfire Games' latest release, Remnant 2, has recently become available and offers players a variety of unique and challenging worlds to navigate. In their quest to eliminate the infectious Root, players must face difficult enemies and formidable bosses, similar to the successful predecessor, Remnant: From The Ashes.
One of the bosses players will encounter is the stone Labyrinth Sentinel, who is intricately connected to the quest of finding Clementine. Although this boss may initially seem straightforward, players must be cautious as the massive stone cubes can quickly lead to a crushing demise if not handled properly. To assist players in their battle, here are some helpful tips to dismantle these colossal stone cubes and reduce them to mere pebbles.
Aim for the Glowing Squares
The Labyrinth Sentinel sets itself apart from typical game bosses by lacking a singular physical form to be targeted for attack. Instead, it consists of multiple colossal stone cubes capable of instantly crushing players. These cubes are nearly indestructible due to their stone composition, except for specific vulnerable points that allow for easy destruction.
Each cube forming the Labyrinth Sentinel possesses a set of small glowing boxes attached to its sides. By aiming and firing at these boxes, they detonate and create small craters on the surface of the cubes. Once a cube loses the purple glowing lines, players can proceed, knowing it is no longer susceptible to further damage. The real challenge lies not only in avoiding being crushed by the rolling cubes but also in timing the shots accurately. Each cube rotates periodically to shield itself, making precise timing essential for dismantling each part of the Sentinel.
Use the Damaged Sides of the Cubes to Your Advantage
The massive stone cubes on the ground may not be fast, but their sheer size can become a daunting challenge for players if they become trapped. The consequences are dire, as being crushed by a cube equals instant death. Nonetheless, players have a chance to turn the tables by targeting and demolishing the weak spots of the Sentinel, thus creating a lifeline for themselves.
Once a player shoots and destroys a vulnerable point on a cube, it will detonate, resulting in a substantial cavity on its side. This strategic feature can be advantageous for the player, as the created crater is spacious enough for a cube to roll over them without inflicting any harm. In the event of players struggling to outrun a stone box, they can seek refuge under a damaged section, and the Sentinel will effortlessly pass over their character, leaving them completely unharmed.
Get Off to a Fast Start
When battling the Labyrinth Sentinel, players should ideally approach the encounter with caution and patience. However, there is a chance to gain an advantage right from the start and land impactful strikes on this formidable enemy. Upon entering the Sentinel's lair, players will encounter short moments where they can target and exploit four weak spots on the boss. These weak points consist of two located on the floating cube above and two on the ground. Refer to the following instructions on effectively taking down these vulnerable areas and ultimately defeating the Sentinel:

Players will need to perfect their timing to make the most of the situation. Even if they fail to capture all four, they can still continue the battle. Nevertheless, this initial success serves as a formidable challenge with a dual purpose – a deadly puzzle. Prolonging the destruction of these vulnerable spots can disrupt the flow of the fight.
Be Patient
Understanding the strengths, weaknesses, and patterns of the Labyrinth Sentinel may require a few attempts, but players can easily anticipate the boss's movements with some patience. By studying the cubes' predictable pattern, players can foresee their movements without any difficulty. The majority of the Sentinel's lair does not have overlapping movements, so players only need to focus on one main stone box at a time.
The rotation of the cubes is another test of patience. Due to the weak points being located on only a few sides, it may take time for the glowing boxes to be exposed. While waiting for this to happen, it is crucial for players to remain aware of their surroundings and track the movements of the stone cubes to avoid any surprises.
Look to the Skies
The Labyrinth Sentinel presents a dilemma both on the ground and in the air. Above the players, there exist three cubes that demand attention, posing a challenge as they divert focus from the happenings on the ground. Moreover, projectiles will be launched at players from above, particularly when their character remains stationary for extended periods, necessitating vigilance both on the ground and in the sky to overcome the Sentinel.
The cubes above the Sentinel's lair pose the greatest challenge in this battle due to their slow, unpredictable rotation pattern that exposes their vulnerable points. To simplify the task, players should prioritize swiftly eliminating the floating cubes to avoid nullifying the efforts made at ground level to deal with the rolling blocks.
Remnant 2 is currently accessible on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
