Alien is coming to Dead by Daylight, expanding the game's horror franchise and offering new content and gameplay.
The inclusion of both the Xenomorph killer and an interactive map aims to deliver thrilling and chilling experiences to players. Introducing the facehugger creature as an additional ability for the Xenomorph has the potential to heighten the horror factor and increase the game's immersion.
Several highly anticipated horror classics have yet to join Dead by Daylight's roster, leaving eager fans waiting. While there hasn't been any news regarding a potential adaptation of Friday the 13th, there are still many beloved horror figures that could make an appearance in the game. A recent teaser revealed that Alien will soon be added to Dead by Daylight, exciting science-fiction horror enthusiasts and providing a wealth of new content for the thrilling asymmetrical game.
It is likely that this crossover chapter will focus exclusively on Alien and not its sequels or spin-offs. Despite this, there is still ample potential for the franchise within Dead by Daylight. The Nostromo, the iconic spaceship from the Alien franchise, will serve as an incredible map for players to explore and navigate. The Xenomorph, the terrifying extraterrestrial creature, could be a formidable killer, while Ripley, the iconic protagonist, could potentially be a survivor (though this has not been confirmed yet). Additionally, there is room for another equally terrifying creature associated with the Xenomorph to be introduced as a killer power.
Dead by Daylight’s Alien Can Employ a Facehugger Like the Twins’ Victor
The Xenomorph may resemble Plague and possess corrosive vomit that it sprays on survivors; however, its blood consists of molecular acid instead of being expelled. The Xenomorph is likely to utilize its long tail as a mid-range attack, making it the simplest option.
On the other hand, within the Alien lore, the facehugger creature is truly repulsive and terrifying. Its ability to attach itself to a human's face and insert an egg into their throat, causing an infant alien to burst out of their chest, is particularly horrifying. Although the facehugger dies after this process, the trauma and impending death have already been inflicted. Fortunately, Dead by Daylight already features a similar creature in the form of the Twins killer characters.
Victor Deshayes possesses independent control separate from Charlotte, enabling him to pounce on survivors and latch onto them while they struggle to free themselves. Detaching facehuggers is a notoriously challenging task, suggesting that freeing survivors from their grasp may not be possible. One potential solution could involve incorporating emergency medical pods throughout each map, allowing players to surgically remove the embryo from their stomachs.
Implementing this idea would undoubtedly require more effort compared to a simpler power, making it a potential obstacle to consider. Nonetheless, facehuggers undeniably contribute to the unnerving life cycle of Xenomorphs, and their addition as an ability for the Xenomorph in Dead by Daylight would be intriguing to witness.
The killer character should meet certain criteria, such as being humanoid enough to carry and hook downed survivors. It will be intriguing to see how Behavior plans to balance its power with other game mechanics. While having a popular killer character is important, it is equally crucial for Dead by Daylight to ensure that playing as the Xenomorph is enjoyable and captivating. Dead by Daylight can be played on various platforms, including Mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
