Continuing the storyline, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 follows Captain Price and Task Force 141 as they strive to eliminate their most dangerous adversary yet, Vladimir Makarov. There are hints that General Shepherd and Shadow Company's CEO, Phillip Graves, are also involved in sinister plots, as they are still alive or have returned from the dead. Adding to the excitement, Activision is bringing back a popular multiplayer mode alongside the game's iconic villains.
The official Call of Duty blog has announced exciting updates for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Fans can look forward to the arrival of the War Mode from Call of Duty: WW2, as well as enhanced versions of Invasion and Ground War.
In the Ground War multiplayer mode, teams will now consist of 32 players, allowing for intense and strategic gameplay. Similar to Domination, the objective is to reach 250 points in order to achieve victory.
Invasion, on the other hand, offers a 20v20 combat experience, with both real players and AI combatants participating.
The War Mode introduces a narrative-driven approach, where both teams have the opportunity to attack and defend objectives. Victory is achieved by successfully completing these objectives.
To enhance the gaming experience, Activision has developed three new Battle maps for Ground War and Invasion. Additionally, a separate and massive "colossal" War map has been designed specifically for the War Mode.
In addition to the aforementioned changes, Modern Warfare 3 will also introduce the highly sought-after slide cancel feature and bring back the Red Dot feature on minimaps. This feature has been absent since the reboot of the Modern Warfare subseries in 2019. There is also speculation among players that a new iteration of the controversial "No Russian" mission may be included in the game. Moreover, an exciting first for the series is the introduction of an open-world Zombies mode, where players can join forces with other squads to take on hordes of the undead. Additionally, fans will be pleased to hear that 16 classic multiplayer maps from the 2009 installment of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will make a return in MW3, upgraded and true to their original design.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 10 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
