Xbox Game Pass subscribers have reason to rejoice as Shadow Warrior 3, one of the games available on the platform, has received a significant upgrade. The game can now be played in 60 FPS on Xbox Series S, providing a smoother and more immersive gaming experience. Microsoft frequently adds new titles to Xbox Game Pass, with some games launching as day one releases on the service. In June 2023, Rune Factory 4 Special and Stacking were added to the library, and now Shadow Warrior 3 has received a major performance boost for gamers to enjoy.
Fans of Shadow Warrior 3 on Xbox Series S will be pleased to know that a new update from developer Flying Wild Hog now includes a 60 FPS performance mode. While the Xbox One version was capable of running at 60 FPS through backwards compatibility, this feature was previously missing from the release of Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition. The addition of the 60 FPS performance mode gives users the option to choose between quality and performance modes, depending on their preference. Additionally, the update brings improved visuals to all available modes on Xbox consoles, as well as minor performance enhancements and fixes for a few crashing issues. Overall, this update is sure to provide a smoother gameplay experience for Shadow Warrior 3 players on Xbox Series S.
Shadow Warrior 3 was initially released in 2022, but it officially became available for current-generation consoles in February 2023. On the same day, the game was added to the Xbox Game Pass library alongside other titles such as Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, Cities: Skylines – Remastered, and Atomic Heart.
Interestingly, Shadow Warrior 3 is not the only game to receive a 60 FPS performance mode on Xbox Series S post-release. Dying Light 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 have also added one as an update. While most titles that offer a 60 FPS mode on Xbox Series X also make it available on Xbox Series S, there are a few exceptions. It remains to be seen if more Xbox Series S titles will receive 60 FPS modes in the future, as developers continue to push the hardware to its limits.
