Niantic's latest release, Pokemon Sleep, sets itself apart from the company's previous titles. Unlike other games, Pokemon Sleep doesn't rely on active gameplay to advance in levels or complete the Pokedex. Instead, players simply need to focus on getting a good night's sleep and tending to Snorlax's needs.
To ensure Snorlax's well-being, players must create a Helper Team comprising five Pokemon. Choosing the right Pokemon can expedite the process, making it advantageous to level them up and evolve them. However, this requires acquiring candy, which can be obtained through the Research Community. While some players may be unfamiliar with the benefits of this feature, there's no need to worry as this guide explores it extensively.
What Is Research Community
The Research Community is conveniently located in the Main Menu. Its primary focus is on expanding your network of friends, which can be easily achieved by clicking on the first button in the top right corner. It is worth mentioning that players have the capacity to add up to 50 friends simultaneously, and this feature undoubtedly enhances the overall gaming experience. Once friends are added, the game will automatically share sleep reports with them.
In order to control the information they share with friends, players can navigate to the Sharing Options located in the bottom right corner of the Research Community page. This feature allows players to manage the details shared after each sleep session. Any unwanted information can be easily disabled.
Research Community Rewards
As mentioned earlier, the act of adding friends holds great significance in Pokemon Sleep. Whenever a player receives a Research Update from their companions, they are rewarded with a Pokemon candy. The type of candy received is determined by the Pokemon that the report revolves around.
As players exchange updates, the level of closeness between them gradually strengthens. As each level is completed, players are rewarded with a bonus item. The items players receive as bonuses are listed below.
Level 1—Handy Candy S x1
Level 2—Ingredient Assortment x1
Level 3—Evolution Item
Level 4—Ingredient Assortment x2
Level 5—Handy Candy x2
The Research Community is a valuable resource for obtaining candies more efficiently when leveling up and evolving Pokemon. Although new rewards like Skill Seeds and Biscuits may be added in the future, currently there have been no updates.
Pokemon Sleep is available on Android and iOS.
