In Disney Illusion Island, a Metroidvania-style game, players must acquire specific abilities to access locked items and levels. To progress through the world, all eight abilities must be collected. Additionally, players must gather various Mickey-themed collectibles scattered throughout Illusion Island during gameplay. Each section of the map provides a unique ability to unlock.
Boost Jump Ability in Disney Illusion Island
Abilities: Boost Jump, Wall Jump, Ground Pound, Swing, Glide, Deep Dive, Deep Dive Ram, and Slides. Although the collections menu displays only seven of these abilities, players must acquire all eight in order to fully advance through the entire story.
In Disney Illusion Island, players acquire the Boost ability as their initial skill. Rather than a traditional boost, it functions more like an extended leap, enabling players to enhance the distance traveled horizontally and not affecting vertical height.
Wall Jump Ability in Disney Illusion Island
Wall Jump allows players of the well-received Disney Illusion Island to bounce off of walls and get more height. This is unlocked in the Overgrown Farmlands.
Ground Pound Ability in Disney Illusion Island
The Ground Pound slams Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, or Donald into the ground, destroying rocks blocking the path downwards.
Swing Ability in Disney Illusion Island
The Swing ability allows players to grab onto crystals with a long rope, allowing them to swing back and forth. This unlocks everything to the right of the library.
Glide Ability in Disney Illusion Island
Glide unlocks the ability to ride drafts of air. This power is the only way to get up to the Head of Highness location to take down one of the several bosses.

Deep Dive and Deep Dive Ram Abilities in Disney Illusion Island
Transforming the Post Office site, known as MOPS, magically converts the dotted lines into movable light fixtures reminiscent of Sonic the Hedgehog's ability to slide across them. Experience this entertaining platformer game suitable for all ages.
Both Deep Dive and Deep Dive Ram are simultaneously unlocked. These ultimate abilities empower players to submerge into the mysterious "moon juice" and subsequently employ Ram to dismantle underwater objects.
Upon acquiring this ability, players gain the capability to revisit previous levels and gather all the collectibles they may have missed. As Disney Illusion Island is a puzzle platformer with elements reminiscent of Metroidvania games, players must strategically utilize these newfound powers in order to achieve a complete 100% progression. The game is currently accessible on Nintendo Switch.
