Unleashing the Magic: Mastering Merlin Trials in Feldcroft - A Complete Guide

In Hogwarts Legacy, players will come across Merlin Trials scattered throughout the vast map. These trials present players with small puzzles to solve. Each time a player successfully completes a certain number of puzzles, they will have the opportunity to increase their Gear equip load.

One particular region, Feldcroft, stands out among the rest with over 10 Merlin Trials in Hogwarts Legacy. While some trials are conveniently located near each other and can be accessed quickly through a Floo Flame, others are situated farther away and will require players to have a mount.

The enigmatic sorcerer Merlin has scattered numerous puzzles throughout the Hogwarts Legacy universe, and Students are tasked with completing these Trials. While exploring the region of Feldcroft, players will encounter unsolvable riddles that require specific Spells that have not yet been acquired. For this reason, it is crucial for Witches and Wizards to always be equipped with the necessary Spells, as it significantly aids in the successful resolution of Merlin's Trials in Feldcroft.

There are a total of 16 Merlin Trials found in Feldcroft Region. Each one requires Mallowsweet Leaves to activate. The Trials are:

Merlin Trial #1 - Stone Pillar Puzzle

Merlin Trial #2 - Stone Cube Puzzle

To reach the second Merlin Trial, proceed north from the initial location. It is imperative for players to overcome the adversaries prior to engaging in the Trial. Within this area, the utilization of Flipendo is essential in order to successfully spin all three symbol cubes and align the top one with those on the bottom pillar.

First Cube Puzzle Solution

Head to the pillar to the east and use Flipendo on the first symbol then repeat it on the second one until the top and the bottom symbols match.

Second Cube Puzzle Solution

Go to the pillar to the west and cast the same spell twice from side #1, then once on the second and third symbols to match them with the lower part.

Third Cube Puzzle Solution

Walk south from the second pillar to reach the third one and cast Flipendo once on the first symbol to solve it.

Merlin Trial #3 - Platform Bridge Puzzle

To make your way to the North Feldcroft Floo Flame quickly, make use of fast travel. From there, fly towards the western direction until you reach the third Merlin Trial. Keep in mind that this particular trial is guarded by adversaries, so prepare yourself for a battle. Once you have defeated the Goblins, it's time to activate the Trial. In order to solve the puzzle in Hogwarts Legacy, head south and ascend the wooden platform until you reach the highest level. From there, carefully navigate the white platforms without falling to the ground.

Merlin Trial #4 - Stone Pillar Puzzle

From the previous location, go northwest to reach the fourth Trial. Same as the first one, use Confringo to destroy the five pillars.

One pillar is west, across the Merlin altar.

One is found alone south.

Two pillars are east.

The final pillar is hidden behind some thorns southwest.

Merlin Trial #5 - Platform Bridge Puzzle

From Rookwood Castle Floo Flame, head northwest to find the fifth Merlin Trial. Activate the Trial and jump on all the platforms without missing one or falling in the water.

Merlin Trial #6 - Brazier Puzzle

Fly north from the fifth Trial to reach the sixth. In Hogwarts Legacy, players must light three braziers using a fire spell. It is crucial to light all three braziers before landing, making speed essential to solve this puzzle.

Merlin Trial #7 - Orbs Pillars Puzzle

Players can walk or fly east from their current location to reach the seventh Trial. Nine orbs must be destroyed to solve this Merlin Trial.

The first three can be seen right next to the Trial platform.

Three more are seen by heading southwest.

The last three are on a separate platform northwest of the camp.

Merlin Trial #8 - Broken Statue Puzzle

Summon a Broom in Hogwarts Legacy and fly southeast to the next Trial. Reparo is crucial to repair the three broken statues. Use Revelio to mark the statues’ locations.

The first is northwest, close to the altar.

Second one is north.

The last statue is found by climbing the slope to the south.

Merlin Trial #9 - Stone Pillar Puzzle

From South Feldcroft Floo Flame, proceed northwest to find the Trial. As usual, five pillars must be destroyed using the Confringo spell in Hogwarts Legacy.

One pillar is northeast.

Another is west.

One is south, guarded by Cottongrass Dugbog.

One can be found south, on top of a hill.

One is southeast, on top of a hill.

Merlin Trial #10 - Stone Sphere Puzzle

To uncover the concealed Merlin Trial in Hogwarts Legacy, proceed southeast on foot or with the assistance of a trusty Broom. Solving this trial entails the task of guiding a sphere back to its original position. Commence by summoning the Broom and taking flight towards the northeast, where the sphere can be spotted perched upon a hill. Employ the Depulso spell repeatedly to propel the sphere down the slope, facilitating its return to the designated spot.

If the sphere gets stuck somewhere, use Wingardium Leviosa to levitate it.

Merlin Trial #11 - Stone Pillar Puzzle

Fast travel to Feldcroft Catacomb and go north to find the eleventh Merlin Trial. Equip Confringo to destroy the five stone pillars.

Two are southeast, and one of them is hidden behind some rocks blocking a legendary chest in Hogwarts Legacy.

One is north.

One is west, perched on a hill.

The fifth pillar is southeast.

Merlin Trial #12 - Orbs Pillars Puzzle

From the previous Trial, proceed in a northerly direction to reach the subsequent one. Once the Trial is activated, the protagonists are required to obliterate nine orbs, commencing with three orbs positioned immediately adjacent to the Merlin altar. The remaining orbs can be located to the north of the altar.

Merlin Trial #13 - Firefly Puzzle

Teleport back to the Feldcroft Catacomb and head east to the Merlin Trial. There are three Moonstone pillars in Hogwarts Legacy that require fireflies to activate.

The initial collection of fireflies can be located towards the west, situated atop a hill. Ascend using a Broom and employ Lumos to lead them back.

Proceed towards the south to discover an additional cluster of fireflies at the base of the slope. Implement the same approach to guide them back.

The last group of fireflies is found by climbing the stairs found northeast.

Merlin Trial #14 - Stone Pillar Puzzle

Summon a flying mount or a Broom in Hogwarts Legacy from the thirteenth Trial and soar towards the northeast. Once the adversaries have been dealt with, commence the Merlin Trial. Utilize the spell Confringo to obliterate the five pillars, ensuring to first identify their positions with the assistance of Revelio.

One is northeast, a bit far away from the altar.

Two can be found west.

One is east, near a tent.

The final pillar is north.

Merlin Trial #15 - Brazier Puzzle

Travel to Irondale Floo Flame and run west to activate the Trial. Three braziers must be lit using a fire spell.

Head east and light the one next to the bridge.

Turn west and light the second brazier.

The last one is southwest of the Merlin altar.

Merlin Trial #16 - Orbs Pillars Puzzle

The final Merlin Trial in Feldcroft takes place in the same village as the previous one, allowing players to travel on foot instead of relying on mounts in Hogwarts Legacy. Similarly to previous Trials, players are tasked with obliterating nine orbs that can be identified using Revelio.

The initial trio is located to the south, adjacent to Althea Twiddle's residence.

The second three are northeast.

The final three are found west.

Most of the Spells are learned during classes at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Confringo

Puzzle: Stone Pillar Puzzle And Brazier Puzzle

Sebastian teaches Confringo to students during the In the Shadow of the Undercroft Quest in Hogwarts Legacy. To learn the Spell, students must accompany the Slytherin to the Defense Against the Dark Art Tower and engage in a conversation before proceeding to the Undercroft.

Confringo is primarily used for combat, as it unleashes a powerful explosion upon contact. Its effectiveness is particularly valuable for solving the Stone Pillar Puzzle. Unlike Incendio, which is also a Fire Spell but mainly used to attack close-range enemies, Confringo is ideal for the Brazier Puzzle due to its long-range capabilities.

Flipendo

In order to unlock Flipendo, players must complete two steps after finishing Professor Garlick's Assignment 2 Quest in Hogwarts Legacy. The puzzle, known as the Stone Cube Puzzle, is taught by the Herbology Teacher.

Grow and harvest Fluxweed.

Acquire all three combat plants and use them simultaneously.

Reparo

Puzzle: The Statue Puzzle

In Hogwarts Legacy, Professor Ronen introduces the Reparo spell to students fairly early on. Once players have participated in the initial Defense Against the Dark Art and Charms Classes, they are required to successfully complete a minor assignment for Professor Ronen in order to acquire the Spell.

Depulso

Puzzle: Stone Sphere Puzzle

To learn Depulso in Hogwarts Legacy, Students need to complete Professor Sharp’s Assignment 1, which includes:
