In the concluding segment of the Wrathful Route in Digimon Survive, players are faced with the aftermath of Aoi and Labramon's biomerge from the previous episode. Additionally, they are tasked with rescuing Miyuki from the Master's clutches and ultimately foiling the Master's nefarious plot.
The next part of Digimon Survive commences in the Cafeteria at the Old School, where the Professor has prepared a meal of questionable quality in an attempt to provide assistance. It is unanimously agreed upon that Aoi's well-meaning plan is a recipe for disaster and must be thwarted at any cost.
Exploration!
This final section of Digimon Survive omits the Free Action portion, as the group immediately proceeds to the Old Shrine following their meal. Players have the option to explore the Woods near the Shrine and the Inner Shrine Entrance to discover items using the phone camera, but the primary highlight awaits at the Inner Shrine.
Free Battle
The Free Battle here offers players a chance to fight HerculesKabuterimon, Megakabuterimon, Jewelbeemon, Dinorexmon, Triceramon, Spinomon, GranKuwagamon, and Okuwamon.
Inner Shrine
Minoru is here with the Professor and is clearly nervous about the upcoming battle. Takuma now has the opportunity to try to encourage Minoru.
Bet you're just cold. | No Effect. |
Heroes get scared too. | Minoru Affinity Up! |
Want me to smack you? | No Effect, you Monster. |
After speaking to Minoru players should interact with the path ahead, behind the monument in the middle of the Shrine, to head further in.
Under Shrine
In this new area, players will find Miu. She's worried about whether the group will make it home and asks Takuma if it is even possible. Takuma considers how to answer:
There's no way. | No Effect, you Monster. |
Let's flip a coin. | No Effect. |
We'll go to a park! | Miu Affinity Up! |
After conversing with Miu, gamers are given the opportunity to examine the door that leads to the next stage. Upon doing so, a captivating sequence ensues featuring Renamon/Haru. Their astonishment is palpable as they witness the complete annihilation of the barrier obstructing their progress.
Deep Under Shrine
To inquire about any new discoveries regarding the murals in this vicinity, players should direct their attention to the left wall and approach the Professor. Regrettably, he is unable to provide any additional information at present. The only course of action remaining is to proceed further downward by examining the door that Plutomon forcibly opened.
Shrine Lowest Lev.
Free Battle 2
Upon investigating the wall to the right, the Professor takes note of its profound implications - revealing that the two realms were once inseparable. In a captivating mural adorning the left side, it becomes evident that Humans and Kemonogami (Digimon) coexisted within this shared domain, with each human and monster pairing embodying "two halves of the same soul." Following this enlightening dialogue, players can venture further into the obscurity ahead by interacting with the path, or alternatively, they have the option to return to the world map and unlock an exhilarating new Free Battle.
This new Free Battle offers players a chance to meet Zudomon, Plesiomon, MarineAngemon, Deramon, MagnaAngemon, Magnadramon, Antylamon, and Cherubimon.
The Story Continues
Having ventured further into the Shrine, Kaito engages in a conversation with Takuma, where he emphatically expresses his resolute commitment to overcoming any challenges that lie ahead. Eagerly awaiting the next series of events, he assures Takuma of his preparedness. Takuma, pondering his reply, contemplates the best course of action.
I don't know if I am. | No Effect. |
You mean fighting Aoi? | No Effect. |
You'll stop Aoi, right? | Kaito Affinity Up! |
Kaito receives a garbled text message shortly after this, but it seems clearer than the previous ones.
Players can then speak with Minoru and Miu. Miu talks to Takuma about the text and seems sad that she didn't receive one.
Ask if she's jealous. | No Effect. |
Say it's coincidence. | Miu Affinity Up! |
Minoru also learns about the message from Takuma and realizes that he has received one as well. Instantly, he is overcome with anxiety, fearing that another bizarre occurrence is about to unfold.
Downplay the texts. | No Effect. |
Say you don't know. | Minoru Affinity Up! |
Minoru proposes that everyone's phones be switched to silent mode to prevent any interruptions during a battle. Once the group engages in conversations with Minoru and Miyuki, they proceed further into the underground tunnel, discovering a section that emanates an eerie aura.
The group discovers Miyuki lying on the ground, but their attempt to help her is met with opposition from Plutomon. Agumon and the other Digimon caution against approaching Plutomon, as they can sense numerous adversaries within it. It is revealed that Plutomon has been absorbing everything in its path and merging with them.
They then explain that Miyuki's soul is starting to merge with the Master, just like everyone else who has perished in the mist so far. Aoi appears to view this as a positive development, believing that merging with everyone, including the Master, will result in a reunion as a singular entity. The group implores Aoi to come back to the Human World with them, but Plutomon decides to absorb and unite with everyone there as well. Unveiling that this was their intended plan all along, Plutomon restates their objective to unite everything into a single being and put an end to all conflicts.
Plutomon/Aoi refuses to listen to the group and Renamon returns to their true form to prepare for battle.
Battle: Plutomon
In the midst of a battlefield covered in the decomposing corpses of numerous Kenzoku, Plutomon anticipates the arrival of the group. As a formidable Virus Digimon, Plutomon is most susceptible to attacks from Digimon with the Vaccine attribute, such as Renamon, Varodurumon (Falcomon's ultimate form), and MarineAngemon (Syakomon's ultimate form). Additionally, it is advisable to introduce an allied Digimon with the vaccine attribute to achieve optimal outcomes, preferably one capable of inflicting light element damage.
Plutomon has the highest resistance against darkness and has partial resistance to every element except for light. They are particularly vulnerable to light attacks, which deal extra damage and are most effective against them. Due to its remarkable speed, Plutomon often takes the first turn in battles, so players should exercise caution and prevent it from attacking from behind for additional damage. Once Falcomon digivolves to its mega form, it can outpace Plutomon, giving players the opportunity to attack it from behind. It is crucial to avoid unnecessary risks when battling Plutomon, as it receives a stat boost every time it defeats an opponent.
After the Battle
Kaito and Renamon both acknowledge that the consequences are too severe if Aoi continues her actions. They express their willingness to eliminate her if necessary, as convincing her to cease poses a significant risk. Takuma appeals to Aoi, urging her to utilize her newfound power as Plutomon to rescue Miyuki and bring about a positive resolution. Plutomon adamantly rejects their plea, claiming that all previous deaths occurred because "they" permitted others to err. Miu intervenes, reminding Aoi that this goes against Saki's desires, but Plutomon abruptly rebuffs her.
Finally, with great reluctance, Kaito makes the difficult decision to confront and defeat Plutomon. Regrettably, Renamon starts to fade away, indicating that Miyuki's life force is rapidly diminishing. Tragically, Miyuki succumbs to her fate, and Renamon slowly dissipates, disappearing completely right before the bewildered group's eyes. Adding to the despair, Plutomon insinuates that this entire sequence of events was orchestrated as part of their nefarious scheme and proceeds to leave in pursuit of consuming the Master. Suddenly, everyone is inexplicably pulled into an eerie void, which bears a striking resemblance to the one Takuma had witnessed in the concluding moments of Part 7.
The Master
Aoi and the Master battle in the void, but Plutomon is absorbed into the Master. In her last moments, she apologizes to everyone. The group considers what they should do now.
We should fight. | Moral +1 |
We should regroup. | Harmony +1 |
We should run. | Wrathful +1 |
Regardless of the choice made, The Master then notices the group and begins to attack.
Battle: The Master (Plutomon Fusion)
The Master is an incredibly powerful Virus Digimon known for its versatility, being highly resistant to dark and earth elemental attacks. Interestingly, its resistance to light is relatively weaker, possibly due to its absorption of Plutomon. Additionally, it has slightly lower resistance to water and wind attacks.
One of its unique abilities is "Warped Faith," a passive skill that enhances both of its attack stats by one rank whenever its HP drops below a certain threshold. Furthermore, its normal attack has an impressive range of up to 11 spaces.
In terms of offensive capabilities, The Master can utilize Plutomon's devastating attack, "Hell's Gate." This attack releases a massive wave of dark energy, causing immense damage in a wide area in front of it and to the sides. On the other hand, it also possesses "Black Frost," which deals water damage to a targeted area and has the potential to freeze and poison any unfortunate targets caught in its blast.
Approach the Master cautiously and prioritize healing whenever possible. To maximize damage, players should focus on utilizing powerful Vaccine Digimon capable of performing light element physical attacks. If players have recruited and evolved another Renamon, it would be an excellent choice for this battle.
Target the red spaces in front of the Master for attacking, and striking these spaces from the sides will result in additional damage. Strengthening offense and defense through buffs is highly recommended due to the Master's immense power. To achieve maximum damage, it may take a turn or two to position the group around the Master's sides. Thus, a sensible strategy would be to have someone attack from the front at a distance while the rest of the group circles around to the sides.
Something is Wrong
The Master will display signs of intense agony after sustaining significant damage. Aoi suddenly emerges, brimming with joy as she accomplishes her objective of gaining control over the Master. It becomes evident that her plan involved being absorbed and deceiving the group to weaken the Master in her pursuit for revenge against Aoi's death.
In this moment, Takuma realizes that the Aoi they once knew no longer exists, and instead, a monstrous entity harboring the intention of annihilating both worlds prevails. Aoi forcibly opens the gateway between realms and extends an invitation to the group, emphasizing that their location will bear no significance once she merges everyone into one. Aoi endeavors to persuade the group by allowing them to hear the voices of those who perished. However, she fails to acknowledge that these voices cry out in agony rather than extending an invitation for the group to join them.
Transforming into Plutomon once more, Aoi decides to make the group one with her here and now.
Battle: Plutomon
Surprisingly, this Plutomon battle bears a striking resemblance to the previous encounter, despite Aoi assimilating the Master. Although her stats may have slightly increased, the strategy remains unchanged. Therefore, players are advised to employ robust Vaccine Digimon that possess light element attacks to swiftly conclude the fight, just as they did previously.
Proceed with caution, launching attacks from advantageous angles and positions, and prevent Plutomon from launching surprise attacks from behind. Administer healing when necessary to hasten the conclusion of the battle.
Aoi expresses sincere remorse, succumbing to her injuries and fading away. All that remains is for the group to utilize the gate left behind by Aoi to return to their own world. As the group converses, the gate steadily expands, ultimately causing the convergence of worlds.
As the group ponders the consequences of coexistence between humans and Digimon, Takuma gathers everyone to return home and contribute to the harmonious coexistence of the two worlds. The Professor, on the other hand, stays behind to grieve and search for any traces of his Sister that may still linger in this realm.
The End
After a year, the game jumps forward and Takuma observes that Aoi's desired outcome for the World actually came true. Despite this, the convergence of the Kemonogami (Digimon) with reality has resulted in chaos and devastation. In an alleyway, a child and their Digimon companion are being pursued by the police, with the Officer exhibiting hostility towards the "Monster Handler." Suddenly, Kaito and Takuma come to the rescue, incapacitating the aggressive police officer and saving the child and their partner.
Minoru and Miu make a call to inquire about the progress, following which Takuma and Kaito assume responsibility for the child. It appears that the group has established a strong resistance movement with the aim of promoting unity and avoiding any further tragedies like Aoi's. As they pledge to pursue their mission of establishing a conflict-free world without resorting to extreme measures, the credits begin to roll.
