Summary
Lucius's team, consisting of Legendary Pokémon and unique species, showcases his accomplished trainer status and wide travels across different regions.
Lucius's team of Pokémon is comprised of individuals with unique abilities. Lapras excels at transportation while Kleavor is skilled at cutting trees, making them well-suited for Lucius's adventurous pursuits.
As Liko and Roy embark on their mission to locate the remaining members of Lucius's team, the plotlines of Pokémon Horizons converge, presenting them with a fresh objective and guiding their path forward.
Pokémon Horizons had already unveiled the remarkable Pokémon owned by the renowned Ancient Adventurer Lucius, who was rumored to be one of the most formidable trainers in history. Among his impressive collection was the highly coveted Black Rayquaza. Now, the complete lineup of Lucius's team has been revealed, solidifying their status as the most powerful group in Pokémon history.
Previously, it was disclosed that Lucius's Ancient Poké Balls, like the one possessed by Roy, once belonged to him. The initial Poké Ball displayed the legendary Black Rayquaza, followed by the colossal Arboliva and the rare Galarian Moltres. Surprisingly, Liko's grandmother, who possessed extensive knowledge about Lucius, was on the verge of divulging more information when they were unexpectedly attacked by the Explorers. After narrowly escaping, she entrusted Lucius's journal to Liko, unveiling the remaining members of his formidable team.
Alongside the three previously known Pokémon, it was shown that Lucius also owned a Lapras, a Kleavor, and another Legendary Pokémon, Entei.
Lucius's Team Is Perfect for an Adventurer
Lucius's team, consisting of half Legendary Pokémon, showcases his prowess as a trainer. In the anime, Legendary Pokémon only obey a select few, highlighting Lucius's exceptional skills. Furthermore, his team comprises Pokémon from various regions like Hoenn, Paldea, Galar, Kanto, Hisui (Sinnoh), and Johto, indicating his extensive travels. It is believed that Lucius operated around a century before the current story, aligning him with the Hisui era depicted in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
So, why did Lucius choose these specific Pokémon? Simply put, the Legendaries possess unparalleled power that proves advantageous in any situation. Additionally, Lapras, a relatively rare Pokémon, offers superb transportation capabilities, making it an invaluable companion during overseas travels. The towering stature of Arboliva makes it truly stand out among its kind, while Kleavor, a now-extinct rarity, wields axe arms capable of felling trees and obliterating obstacles. Lucius's team perfectly caters to the needs of an adventurer constantly venturing into perilous territories.
What Does Lucius's Team Mean For Liko and Roy?
Liko and Roy have been tasked with finding the remaining members of Lucius's team, known as "the Six Heroes." They already possess the balls containing Arboliva and Moltres, as well as the ball belonging to Black Rayquaza (though Rayquaza is not inside it). These balls have been found in their respective regions, except for Rayquaza's, indicating that Liko and Roy will likely journey to Johto, Kanto, or Sinnoh. Terapagos also has some connection to Lucius and may assist in convincing the Six Heroes to join them. By recruiting Lucius's team, Liko and Roy have a new objective that links the two Pokémon Horizons storylines together.
