Despite only recently deciding to become a trainer, Dot demonstrates her battling abilities by holding her ground against two opponent Pokémon simultaneously.

Given Dot's expertise, it is logical that she possesses much of the knowledge required of a trainer. Her internet streaming show, Nidothing, primarily focuses on providing tips to trainers. Fans have noticed that the advice offered is reliable enough to apply not only to the video games but also to real-life scenarios. It appears that Dot's reluctance to become an official trainer stems more from her personal insecurities about the world rather than a lack of interest in Pokémon. Thus, for Dot to overcome her fears and successfully capture Quaxly signifies a significant step forward for her.
