Is it worth investing in the Rush Boots?

After a decade of anticipation, Pikmin enthusiasts finally have the opportunity to experience a fresh addition to the Pikmin series. Pikmin 4 is now officially released and ready for purchase or download. Seasoned players of the franchise will be familiar with the gameplay mechanics in Pikmin 4, as they once again take on the role of a personalized character navigating the vast planet where Olimar and the Rescue Corps found themselves stranded.

Initially, Pikmin 4 players can effortlessly navigate their way to any destination with little challenge. However, as the game progresses and the stages expand in size, players will notice that it becomes more time-consuming to reach different key points within the area. Although players eventually gain the ability to ride their loyal companion, Oatchi, it is disappointing to learn that this doesn't enhance their speed. Fortunately, there is a way to increase their pace, but it requires unlocking it over time.

How to Move Faster

In Pikmin 4's story mode, players will soon encounter Russ, a scientist and member of the Rescue Corps crew. Rescuing Russ will grant players access to the Lab, a valuable feature that allows them to utilize the raw materials they have collected to create useful items and gear. Initially, players will only have a limited selection of gear they can craft. However, as the story progresses and more treasures are collected, Russ will introduce new gear options to the crafting list.

Once players accumulate a substantial amount of 6,000 sparklium, they will unlock the ability to craft the Rush Boots gear. Equipping these boots provides a significant boost to movement speed. Additionally, when riding Oatchi, the Rush Boots also enhance his speed. However, it is important to note that the Rush Boots are quite costly to make, requiring 120 units of raw material.

Are the Rush Boots Worth It?

Although there may initially appear to be more advantageous ways to utilize raw materials, acquiring the Rush Boots proves worthwhile. While it may require a few in-game days to gather the necessary materials, their impact on movement speed is significant. The Rush Boots enable players to traverse the map more quickly without compromising control over their character. Aside from the Rush Boots, there are no other means for players to enhance their speed. It is worth noting that the Ultra-Spicy Spray exclusively affects Oatchi and Pikmin. Pikmin 4 is currently accessible on the Nintendo Switch.
