Megumi's domain expansion has become the talk of the town after Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 14. The skilled sorcerer unexpectedly found himself inside Dagon's domain and used his own to save Nanami and Maki.
By expanding his domain within Dagon's Horizon of the Captivating Skandha, Megumi managed to partially counter the deadly impact of Death Swarm. However, he had a unique strategy in mind to rescue Nanami and Maki instead of engaging in a typical domain battle with Dagon.
In the episode, it was revealed that his intention was to create a hole to escape the domain. However, what unfolded afterwards surpassed Megumi's wildest imagination.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2: Megumi's domain expansion accidentally lets Toji inside
In episode 14 of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, Maki, Nanami, and Naobito faced off against the formidable special grade curse known as Dagon. The sorcerers were taken aback by the curse's immense power, forcing them to adapt their strategies in order to land successful attacks. Despite their efforts, however, they were unable to overcome Dagon's domain.
The domain of Dagon, a special-grade cursed spirit, known as the Horizon of the Captivating Skandha, was expanded to ensnare Naobito, Nanami, and Maki within a coastal area that stretched out before them, featuring an immense ocean. Within Dagon's domain, his adversaries were relentlessly assaulted by an endless swarm of Piranha-like Shikigami, thanks to its guaranteed-hit effect.

Nanami, Maki, and Naobito were in a dire situation, unable to find a solution against Dagon's domain. As time passed, the cursed spirit increased his powers and unleashed another technique called Death Swarm, summoning a large group of marine Shikigamis to aid him.
The marine life Shikigamis attacked Naobito, devouring his right hand, and swarmed towards Nanami. Left with no choice, Maki defended herself with all her strength. However, to everyone's surprise, Megumi Fushiguro unexpectedly entered the domain and delivered Maki the special cursed tool, Playful Cloud.

In addition, in order to counteract the devastating effects of Dagon's relentless Death Swarm, the sorcerer with dark hair activates his own domain known as Chimera's Shadow Garden. The cursed spirit takes notice of the sorcerer's actions and derides him for daring to enter the domain alone.
But he soon discovered that the guaranteed success of his domain had disappeared, and he came to the realization that it was Megumi's domain expansion that had caused this change. Dagon then speculated that both his and Megumi's domains were engaged in a fierce struggle for dominance.

Megumi had a different objective in mind. In Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, he expressed his desire to open a hole in the barrier of the domain and escape with everyone. Since the original entry point was now closed, he focused on creating a temporary opening large enough for one person to pass through.
Megumi considered Dagon’s limitations compared to Satoru Gojo's abilities. He believed that the cursed spirit probably couldn't perform domain expansion multiple times a day. With this in mind, escaping the domain presented an opportunity for victory in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2.
In Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, Megumi is responsible for creating a hole in a domain. However, escaping a domain is not as simple as it seems. According to Satoru Gojo, it is "practically impossible" to do so. This is because the cubic volume of a domain appears differently from the inside and outside. As a result, if someone is trapped inside, they would have no knowledge of the domain's boundaries.
But having come into contact with the outskirts of Dagon's territory, Megumi Fushiguro became aware of its whereabouts. Consequently, he informed Nanami that the boundary of the barrier lay directly beneath him. As he readied himself to make an opening, Nanami summoned his comrades and requested their presence.
Dagon's knowledge of Megumi's plan came too late, as she successfully opened a rift in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2. However, Megumi was taken aback by what happened next as Toji Fushiguro, who had been resurrected, emerged through the rift into Dagon's realm. The ensuing chaos witnessed Toji Fushiguro decimating the powerful curse with Maki's stolen Playful Cloud. With Dagon's demise, the Horizon of the Captivating Skandha ceased to exist, leaving the sorcerers in Shibuya.

Although some may argue that Toji Fushiguro ultimately saved Nanami, Maki, and the others, credit must be given to the significant role Megumi's domain expansion played. Without his intervention and the counteracting effects within Dagon's domain, the lives of Nanami, Maki, and Naobito would have been lost.
Furthermore, had Megumi not created an opening within the domain, Toji Fushiguro would not have been able to arrive and defeat Dagon. Therefore, Megumi's domain in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 proved to be instrumental in a crucial moment.
