Activision has released the gameplay trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, showcasing new combat locations and providing additional insights into the game's storyline. The trailer was unveiled following a live event in Call of Duty: Warzone, which set the foundation for the events in Modern Warfare 3.
Activision had teased that August 17 would be a significant day for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and it certainly delivered, revealing thrilling information about the upcoming installment in the rebooted Modern Warfare subseries. During the Warzone event, players caught a glimpse of the Russian Ultra-nationalists, under the command of Valdimir Makarov, infiltrating a team of Shadow Company operatives and eliminating them after securing the missiles from Al Mazrah. Subsequently, the trailer was unveiled, accompanied by further details about the game's campaign.
The Call of Duty blog recently released new details about the game’s campaign, centered around Captain Price and his Task Force 141 as they battle against Makarov's attempt to incite another World War. Activision is introducing a unique feature called "Open Combat Missions" in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, allowing players the freedom to choose their preferred approach to each mission. Whether it's a stealthy "lights-out approach" with night-vision goggles and silent weapons, or an all-out guns blazing strategy, players will have the flexibility to select their preferred playstyle. Furthermore, players will have access to a wide range of gear, weapons, and vehicles, with the ability to fully customize their gameplay in these Open Combat Missions. Players seeking a traditional Call of Duty campaign experience will still find enjoyment in the missions as seen in previous games.
Interestingly, the gameplay trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 did not feature Makarov or General Shepherd, two significant antagonists, which raises intrigue about the game's storyline. Additionally, the CEO of Shadow Company, Phillip Graves, appears to be alive and could pose another obstacle for Captain Price in his journey.
Activision is set to revive 16 beloved multiplayer maps from the 2009 blockbuster game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
