Unleash Your Cybernetic Potential with Cyberpunk 2077's Cutting-Edge Skill Tree Revamp

Phantom Liberty revolutionizes Cyberpunk 2077 by completely revamping its skill tree and perks, elevating the game's major systems to new heights

Cyberpunk 2077 has a chance to redeem itself with the release of Phantom Liberty. The upgraded skill tree suggests that the developers are determined to make the most out of this opportunity. While the game had a disastrous launch, CD Projekt Red has put in years of hard work to fix the major issues and create a better experience for players.

Phantom Liberty is not just an expansion pack with an expanded storyline set in Night City. It goes beyond that, aiming to correct the game's course and bring it closer to its original vision. The ambitious demo showcased during the Summer Game Fest 2023 has generated a lot of excitement within the Cyberpunk 2077 community, as it showcases the rebuilt gameplay from the ground up.

An image showcasing the upcoming talent tree system for Cyberpunk 2077 was obtained from Dave Oshry's Twitter account. Oshry, the CEO of New Blood Interactive, had the opportunity to play Phantom Liberty in its early stages. The image was later shared on the game's official subreddit by a user named jordgoin, and it received a positive response from the enthusiastic fanbase eagerly awaiting the release of the definitive edition of Cyberpunk 2077.

In this new talent tree system, the skill categories of Assault, Handguns, and Blades have been combined and streamlined. As a result, the talent system now effectively resembles a skill tree rather than a skill bush.

The updated system introduces primary nodes, secondary nodes, and ultimate nodes within each skill category. While the precise details are mere speculation, it is likely that primary nodes represent specific skills or talents that players can specialize in. On the other hand, secondary nodes offer passive bonuses to enhance these specialized skills. The ultimate nodes, located at the top of the talent tree, appear to be reserved for game-changing abilities such as Deathbolt.

Phantom Liberty's addition of cyberpsychosis in Cyberpunk 2077 introduces a new layer of decision-making for players regarding their cyberware augmentations. To fully immerse themselves in the upcoming changes, it is highly recommended for players to start anew. While Update 1.7 will provide a gameplay overhaul at no cost, purchasing Phantom Liberty will grant fans access to a new ending for Cyberpunk 2077. If CD Projekt Red successfully executes this update in September, the game will shake off its tarnished reputation from its troubled launch, instilling players with a renewed sense of optimism for its sequel.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is set to launch on September 26, 2023, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
