The Marvel multiverse boasts a wide array of intriguing Spider-Man versions, many of which made appearances in the animated Spider-Verse films. Even better, some of their costumes are unlockable skins in Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, allowing fans to explore Insomniac's version of New York City while embodying their favorite Spider-hero.

One notable variant is Spider-Punk, also known as Hobbie Brown. In the comics, Hobbie was bitten by a mutated spider and utilized his newfound powers to rally the people of Earth-138 against the corrupt President Norman Osborn and his V.E.N.O.M. soldiers. This rock-and-roll-inspired version of Spidey recently graced the big screen in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, with the talented Daniel Kaluuya lending his voice to the character. Spider-Punk quickly won over fans with his rebellious attitude and visually striking style, which perfectly captures the essence of this beloved superhero.

Content: An unlockable version of Spider-Punk’s costume is already available in Marvel’s Spider-Man game. However, a new mod has been developed that presents a version more faithful to Hobie Brown’s animated character. Galan, a Twitter user and artist, shared a clip of the Spider-Punk mod for Spider-Man: Miles Morales that they contributed to. This mod incorporates Spider-Punk’s recognizable rock-inspired appearance, featuring a leather jacket, various symbols of rebellion, and numerous spikes on Hobie’s head, shoulders, and armbands.

Insomniac’s Spider-Man games have previously included representations of the Spider-Verse movies. The original Marvel’s Spider-Man game included a cel-shaded Peter B. Parker as a playable skin, while the animated version of Miles Morales could be unlocked in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, complete with a special suit mod that emulates the movie's stylish frame rate. As Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to release on PlayStation 5 in October, it is highly likely that other Spider-heroes from Across the Spider-Verse may be introduced as unlockable character skins, which could include Spider-Punk.

Meanwhile, Galan and DeadGunned have successfully captured the essence of Hobie Brown's animated persona with their Spider-Man: Miles Morales Spider-Punk skin, showcasing his punk-rock style in an impressive manner. Galan reveals their ongoing efforts to replicate Spider-Punk's distinctive character outline and intermittent freeze-frame effects, suggesting that this modification could eventually exhibit even greater similarities to Across the Spider-Verse.
