Unleash the Power: Mastering Ignition in Final Fantasy 16

Content: In Final Fantasy 16, Clive Rosfield strives to improve Valisthea for the Bearers, individuals who possess the innate ability to wield magic. However, numerous detractors challenge his vision, leaving Clive with little choice but to resort to violence since they refuse to engage in dialogue.

As the Dominant of Ifrit, Clive possesses a range of fiery powers at his disposal to vanquish his foes. Each ability in Final Fantasy 16 serves a distinct purpose, and as the story progresses, players may find it challenging to prioritize which abilities to unlock first. The Ignition ability proves especially advantageous during the early stages of the game, although mastering its effective utilization may require substantial practice.

What Does The Ignition Ability Do?

When activated, the Ignition ability empowers Clive to charge into enemies, continuously damaging them with his sword. If the target is small enough, they will be pulled along by Clive's blade until the attack is over. Ignition also grants players the ability to maneuver Clive, directing him towards multiple enemies to attack and drag them if they collide. The only limitation of Ignition is that it cannot pull large enemies, but it remains effective in rapidly depleting their Stagger Meters, making it invaluable in Final Fantasy 16's challenging battles.

How To Get The Ignition Ability

To unlock the Ignition ability, players must first complete the Buried Memories main quest and start The Meaning of Life. During the beginning of this quest, a prompt will appear, notifying players that Clive has unlocked two Ifrit abilities, namely Will-o'-the-Wykes and Ignition, as well as Limit Breaks.

Players can then purchase Ignition for 120 Ability Points through the Abilities tab in the pause menu. Afterward, they can assign Ignition to Clive's Eikon loadout by accessing the Gears and Eikons tab. If players find Ignition unsatisfactory after testing it, they have the option to Reset the ability, removing it and reclaiming the Ability Points spent on it.

How To Upgrade And Master Ignition

To enhance the power of Ignition, players can invest Ability Points to upgrade it further. To begin the upgrade process, players should access the Abilities tab in the pause menu and navigate to the Ignition bubble in the Ifrit skill tree. By holding down the X button, the upgrade can be initiated.

The initial Ignition upgrade requires the expenditure of 525 Ability Points. This upgrade expands the ability's area of effect, increasing the likelihood of hitting distant enemies. To fully master Ignition, players need to spend 1,000 Ability Points. Mastery enables the ability to be assigned to different Eikon slots within the Gear & Eikons tab.
