Highlights
Invincible season 2 introduces Bulletproof, whose powers and costume are similar to Mark Grayson's.
The presence of Bulletproof fighting alongside Shrinking Rae in the photo suggests potential plot developments, such as their relationship dynamics and potential recruitment into the Guardians of the Globe. Bulletproof's extraordinary powers rival those possessed by Viltrumites, making him a valuable ally as Mark's arrogance intensifies in the upcoming season of #Invincible.
Bulletproof, a super with powers akin to the titular character, will be introduced in season 2 of Invincible. His costume, confirmed to be Mark Grayson's original attire from his early superhero days, will emphasize the similarity between their abilities. The long-awaited season 2 of Invincible has finally revealed the voice actor for Bulletproof, as well as the character's allegiance to either the righteous or the criminal side of the law.
Screen Rant provided fans with a glimpse of Bulletproof's costume in an Invincible season 2 photo. In the image, Bulletproof is seen fighting alongside Shrinking Rae. The caption revealed that while viewers had already seen the suit in the first episode of Invincible, this photo offered a look at it on someone other than Mark Grayson. Jay Pharoah voices Bulletproof in the series. There is a possibility that Bulletproof is wearing Grayson's original costume because they possess similar powers, just like in the comic.
Additionally, the picture from Invincible season 2 may suggest several things about Bulletproof's role in the show. One possibility is that he has been recruited as the newest member of the Guardians of the Globe, explaining his presence with Shrinking Rae. This recruitment is logical given his shared powers with Invincible, including flight and super strength. Furthermore, the image could indicate a romantic relationship between Bulletproof and Shrinking Rae. While Shrinking Rae had limited screen time in Invincible season 1, there may be plans to expand her character further. It is also feasible that these two plotlines could unfold concurrently. The existence of interoffice relationships, as seen with Robot and Monster Girl, among the Guardians of the Globe further supports this possibility.
Kirkman expressed his excitement about incorporating Bulletproof into the group. Without revealing too much, Bulletproof possesses similar abilities to Mark, but with the added ability to absorb kinetic energy and a healing factor. With the original Guardians of the Globe gone and their replacements not as powerful, having someone with powers that rival those of a Viltrumite would be advantageous.
Bulletproof goes beyond being just another character because Mark Grayson's storyline in Invincible season 2 is expected to take a different direction. In his upcoming arc, Mark will not only emerge victorious in battles, but also become arrogant as he defeats villains. Having someone with powers that match his own could potentially bring Mark back down to earth. With Omni-Man no longer serving as a benchmark for Mark's abilities, Bulletproof may play a role in humbling the young hero.
Invincible season 2 will premiere on Amazon Prime on November 3, 2023.
