The Creeping Changes To Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's MW2 Maps

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will include a total of 16 core maps from the original MW2 when it launches in November. Sledgehammer Games has shown great respect in recreating these maps, with examples like Highrise retaining the same hidden spots and areas that made the MW2 maps so memorable.

Notably, there have been some adjustments to MW3's portrayals of the maps to align with the slower pacing and movement found in modern titles of Call of Duty. One of the most discussed changes is the addition of functional doors, which did not exist in the original Modern Warfare 2.

In order to address this issue, it has been decided to add doors to previously empty doorways that can be strategically opened or closed by players during a match.
