How The MCU Rocket Cosplay Is So Realistic
Rocket has made appearances in six films since his debut in the MCU. This version of the character is based on his most recent portrayal in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Taka is not involved in designing the actual clothing of the character. Instead, the inspiration for the outfit comes from the red and blue uniform showcased by the Guardians of the Galaxy members in the third installment. The overall suit boasts incredible attention to detail, but the true highlight of the cosplay is the headpiece, closely resembling the appearance of the character in the movie.
Rocket's headpiece is particularly impressive because Marvel Studios did not use any practical gear for the character. Instead, they fully motion-captured the genetically-engineered bounty hunter, similar to Mark Ruffalo's Hulk. As portrayed in the video, Sean Gunn had to wear a green suit to bring Rocket to life. Taka painstakingly used several layers of plaster and molding to achieve the realistic appearance of Rocket. In the comment section, Taka reveals that she devoted approximately 3 to 4 months to creating this masterpiece.
Taka's cosplay is so incredibly lifelike that fans in the comment section are suggesting that Disney Parks should hire her. Many are in awe of her creation, although some express feeling a hint of discomfort with the idea of a human-sized Rocket. With the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 post-credits scene hinting at Rocket's continued presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Taka will have even more opportunities to showcase her talent and create extraordinary costumes like this one.
