In recent news, World of Warcraft has introduced Hardcore realms to its Classic Era servers. These intense worlds, where players have only one life, have experienced a harsh start with nearly 100,000 deaths in the first 24 hours. While many of these casualties were caused by the inhabitants of Azeroth, some were the result of Classic Hardcore's Duel to the Death mechanic, also known as Mak'Gora, where players fought each other.

World of Warcraft content creator Ziqo recently shared a video showcasing his impressive victory in a Mak’Gora duel. Playing as a Classic WoW Mage, he faced off against a formidable Warlock and successfully defeated the Warlock’s powerful demon pet by utilizing the Polymorph ability. However, Ziqo soon found himself in a precarious situation, with his health and mana levels dangerously depleted. Fortunately, he had a cunning tactic up his sleeve – he was on the verge of leveling up and conveniently located near an NPC who had a quest ready to be turned in. In a stroke of luck, Ziqo leveled up mid-fight, instantly replenishing his health and mana, which ultimately allowed him to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

It is worth noting that while creating Hardcore Classic, World of Warcraft probably did not anticipate players employing strategies similar to the one used by Ziqo during intense duels. This particular circumstance is not easily replicated, as it necessitates initiating a duel in close proximity to a completed quest NPC, all while being near a level up. Considering the potential unfairness of this tactic, it would not be surprising if World of Warcraft implemented some form of resolution to prevent its future usage.

Ziqo's clever strategy in World of Warcraft garnered attention from fellow fans, accumulating over 25,000 views in just a few days. Some players were amazed by his strategic thinking and expressed their willingness to use it in their own risk-taking adventures. On the other hand, some players were not as impressed and claimed they would be angry if they were on the receiving end of such tactics. However, it is worth mentioning that Mak'Goras in World of Warcraft lore, such as the ones between Garrosh Hellscream and Cairne Bloodhoof, as well as Thrall, have historically sparked debates about cheating, implying that using underhanded strategies is not uncommon in these life-or-death duels.
