Pierson Fodé, rumored to be one of the potential actors to portray Clark Kent in Superman: Legacy, has taken his campaign for the role to new heights with an exhilarating stunt video. As the newly appointed co-CEOs of DC Studios, James Gunn and Peter Safran are set to revitalize the old DCEU with the upcoming DC Universe. Gunn himself has confirmed that Superman: Legacy, a film he is both writing and directing, will serve as the inaugural movie of this fresh DC Universe. In early June, Fodé emerged as a contender for the Superman: Legacy cast, and now, through a public display on Instagram, he showcases his abilities by soaring through the air and unleashing Superman's iconic heat vision. This compelling demonstration further strengthens Fodé's case to assume the lead role in Superman: Legacy.
Back when Fodé was in contention for the highly sought-after role of Superman, Variety disclosed that The Bold and The Beautiful star had submitted a self-tape. Gunn was particularly impressed by Fodé's portrayal of a character reminiscent of Clark Kent, who grew up on a farm in the quaint town of Moses Lake, Washington. While the stunt video offered a glimpse into Fodé's potential as Superman, recent casting reports for Superman: Legacy have diminished his chances of securing the role.
Superman: Legacy’s Current Casting Situation Explained
In May, the initial reports about the casting for Superman: Legacy started to circulate. However, it was only in the following month that Fodé's association with the film's casting process became apparent. Unfortunately, a recent update on the auditions for Superman: Legacy disclosed the actors who have progressed to the screen testing stage for the roles of Lois Lane and Clark Kent. According to the reports, Emma Mackey, Phoebe Dynevor, and Rachel Brosnahan are the potential candidates for the character of Lois Lane, while David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, and Tom Brittney are reportedly being considered for the lead role of Clark Kent.
Gunn expressed his excitement about the recent auditions for Superman: Legacy, confirming that the screen tests had indeed taken place. He praised the actors involved, stating that he was incredibly impressed by some of them and considered them to be among the best he has ever worked with. The fact that all the names mentioned in the casting reports for Lois and Clark appeared in the first reports further supports the validity of the new round of rumors. This seems to diminish Fodé's chances of securing the role. Fans can expect a confirmation on the actors playing Superman and Lois in the near future. As Marvel Studios will not be present at San Diego Comic-Con 2023's Hall H, DC will seize the opportunity to grab attention. It is highly likely that Superman: Legacy's Lois and Clark will be unveiled during the event in July.
