A contender has emerged for the lead role of Superman in James Gunn's upcoming film, Legacy. As part of the new DC Universe franchise, Legacy will feature several recast characters, including the iconic Man of Steel. The film is set to begin production in 2024 and is currently searching for its leading hero and other characters from the DC Comics lore. Although no star has been confirmed, Pierson Fodé, known for his work on The Bold and The Beautiful, has been added to the list of frontrunners. Fodé reportedly submitted a self-tape showcasing his "Clark Kent-like" upbringing on a farm in Moses Lake, Washington, which caught the attention of Gunn. While no official comment has been made by Gunn or DC Studios, Variety reports that Fodé is being considered for the coveted role.
Other Reported Clark Kent Frontrunners For Superman: Legacy
Other actors who are being considered for the role of Clark Kent in Superman: Legacy include David Corenswet, who has been a fan-favorite for some time now, with countless fan trailers and artwork featuring him as the next Superman. In addition to Corenswet, Andrew Richardson and Tom Brittney have also been mentioned as potential candidates. Nicholas Hoult, who was initially rumored to have auditioned for the role of Lex Luthor, has also been reported as another top contender for the iconic superhero.
As of now, it's important to keep in mind that Fodé is not guaranteed to secure the role of Superman in Legacy since casting decisions have yet to be finalized. With the role being highly sought after in Hollywood, Gunn and DC Studios are sure to consider numerous other actors before reaching a final decision. It is hoped that if DC Studios attend San Diego Comic-Con this summer, they will have the cast of Superman: Legacy prepared to unveil as audiences anticipate the new DC Universe.
